Own materials and processes engineering for thermal protection systems and non-metallic soft goods supporting Terran R flight and reuse. Define qualification envelopes, test plans, characterization campaigns, specifications, and engineering standards. Lead statistically driven experiments, process improvements, failure analyses, and material qualification. Collaborate with materials, laboratory, design, manufacturing, supply chain, reliability, fracture control, and leadership teams to resolve technical risks and improve performance, cost, quality, manufacturing rate, and reusability.

Own materials and processes engineering for Terran R avionics hardware. Qualify materials and processes for flight and reuse, develop technical specifications, lead statistically driven experiments, and support material selection, design, failure analysis, manufacturing, quality, and supply-chain activities. The role coordinates laboratory characterization, process development, subcontractor compliance, fracture-control efforts, technical roadmaps, and risk reduction across interdisciplinary teams.

Designs, analyzes, and builds hardware for Aeon-R rocket propulsion systems. Responsibilities include engine-level layout, mechanical design, fluid, thermal, and structural analysis, trade studies, and collaboration with propulsion, vehicle, manufacturing, integration, and test teams. The engineer will lead projects through completion and support hardware development across the product lifecycle.

Own propulsion test campaigns for Terran R engine assemblies, including test planning, execution, troubleshooting, data review, test sequencing, hotfire console operations, tooling design, and test article evaluation. Support engine subsystem investigations, systems analysis, simulations, trade studies, and efficiency projects. The role is onsite in Long Beach, includes rotating shifts, weekend milestone work, and approximately 25% travel to test and launch sites.

Manage inbound and outbound logistics, dock operations, freight coordination, inventory movement, picking, kitting, and line-side delivery for rocket manufacturing. Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely material flow; establish logistics KPIs; reduce transportation costs; and lead continuous improvement initiatives involving material pull systems and value stream mapping. The role also requires ERP-based materials transactions, people leadership, and expertise in receiving and material handling operations.

Designs, builds, operates, and troubleshoots pressurized cryogenic, pneumatic, and hydraulic test systems for rocket testing. Develops real-time data control systems, creates test plans and procedures, advises engineers on testing practices, mitigates operational hazards, and improves hardware reliability. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of relevant technical experience with pressurized flight components, hazardous equipment, and complex fluid-mechanical systems.

Own reliability and quality initiatives across rocket design, manufacturing, testing, and launch operations. Responsibilities include design standardization, DFM, configuration control, work instruction review, process development, build verification, nonconformance management, as-built verification, root cause and corrective action, inspection automation, and quality documentation. The role collaborates extensively with engineering, additive manufacturing, production, test, and launch teams while establishing scalable quality processes for the Terran R program.

Manage Relativity Space’s metrology and calibration program for electrical, mechanical, optical, RF, and precision test equipment. Lead technicians, quality engineers, operations teams, and vendors; develop calibration strategy and evaluate in-house capabilities. Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, AS9100, and NASA requirements. Review calibration records, maintain equipment tracking databases, provide technical guidance on measurement integrity, and support aerospace manufacturing and reliability objectives.

Leads the design and implementation of optical beam pointing and control algorithms for a Mars orbiter mission. Integrates optical sensors, gyroscopes, spacecraft attitude control, sensor fusion, state estimation, and fast steering mirrors. Owns requirements, modeling, simulation, verification, flight software interfaces, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and on-orbit performance support across the mission lifecycle.

Leads cross-functional technical program execution for Relativity Space’s Terran R launch vehicle across design, manufacturing, qualification, and flight. Owns schedules, program risks, dependencies, priorities, trade-offs, communications, and process development while coordinating technical, manufacturing, operations, and program teams. The role requires translating ambiguous objectives into actionable plans and balancing technical and business needs across the vehicle lifecycle.
