Lead commercial and U.S. Government business development for a stealth space-hardware startup. Own market strategy, customer discovery, capture, proposals, pricing, negotiations, partnerships, and contract awards. Build relationships across government agencies, primes, operators, and space companies; translate market needs into product direction; establish CRM, forecasting, proposal, and compliance processes; and hire and mentor the BD organization. Support fundraising, investor diligence, and company strategy while balancing technical fit, revenue, risk, margin, and mission value.

Own the spacecraft RF and EMC architecture from concept through flight operations, including link budgets, frequency planning, antennas, transceivers, spectrum licensing, grounding, shielding, and compatibility analysis. Lead RF and EMC simulation, hardware selection, test infrastructure, qualification campaigns, and environmental testing. Partner cross-functionally on avionics and system integration, establish flight-grade engineering processes, and build, mentor, and lead the RF and EMC organization.

Own and build the company’s IT and cybersecurity foundation, including identity, endpoints, networks, cloud systems, engineering tools, security operations, and compliance. Lead CMMC Level 2 readiness, NIST SP 800-171 implementation, DFARS and ITAR controls, CUI boundaries, incident response, vendor risk, disaster recovery, and audit evidence. Provide hands-on technical leadership, support day-to-day IT, establish policies and processes, and recruit and mentor the growing IT and security team.

Own the spacecraft’s end-to-end systems engineering baseline, including mission architecture, requirements, interfaces, technical budgets, margins, verification, reliability, launch integration, and operational readiness. Lead system-level trade studies, reviews, risk management, and configuration control while partnering across all engineering disciplines. Build and mentor the systems engineering organization, establish flight-grade processes, support regulatory and customer engagements, and help shape the company’s technical roadmap and engineering culture.

Own and build the supply chain for flight and ground spacecraft hardware, including supplier qualification, sourcing, new product introduction, supplier quality, cost and lead-time improvements, risk mitigation, and production delivery. Lead make-versus-buy decisions, supplier audits, corrective actions, quality systems, traceability, export compliance, and supply chain tools. Establish the function from scratch, manage supplier relationships, mentor and hire engineers, and provide technical leadership across engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and logistics.

Lead spacecraft assembly, integration, verification, environmental testing, launch-site operations, and flight readiness. Build I&T facilities, ground support equipment, test automation, data systems, and verification processes. Partner across avionics, software, propulsion, mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering to resolve anomalies and deliver flight-ready vehicles. Establish technical standards, manage vendors, lead test campaigns, and build the integration and test team.

Own the architecture, development, integration, testing, qualification, and flight operations of spacecraft flight software. Lead real-time embedded software, command and telemetry, GNC and autonomy integration, fault management, safety mechanisms, and hardware/software bring-up. Establish verification infrastructure and engineering processes while partnering across avionics and other vehicle disciplines. Build and lead the flight software organization, mentor engineers, make system-level tradeoffs, and help shape the company’s technical roadmap and culture.

Own end-to-end mechanical and structural design for flight-grade space hardware, including concept development, CAD, analysis, prototyping, qualification, integration, and deployment. Perform trade studies, tolerance analyses, FEA, requirements definition, and verification planning. Build and test prototypes, resolve failures, and collaborate with controls, software, avionics, autonomy, and manufacturing teams. Help shape the company’s engineering culture, processes, and technical roadmap.

Own the GNC architecture for autonomous spacecraft rendezvous and proximity operations, including guidance algorithms, trajectory design, navigation, control, simulation, hardware and processor-in-the-loop testing, flight software, fault handling, and verification. Lead cross-functional technical decisions, build engineering processes, mentor and hire engineers, integrate GNC hardware, and guide systems from concept through flight operations.
