Process and integrate customer import data and documents, act as customer liaison to resolve billing and shipment issues, prepare customs clearance paperwork (bills of lading, bonds, PGAs, licenses), communicate with CBP and PGAs, trace and coordinate freight, ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, EPA, USFWS), maintain documentation and accounting accuracy, and support customers, carriers, and internal teams.

Provides senior-level customs and trade advisory services, including independent regulatory research, complex import/export analysis, compliance guidance, project planning, client training, and government liaison activities. Develops solutions for complex trade situations, ensures regulatory compliance, identifies sales opportunities, presents seminars, and mentors colleagues. Requires substantial customs brokerage or auditing experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and eligibility to obtain a Customs Broker’s License. The role is remote with up to 10% travel.

The Import Specialist I processes customer data for customs requirements, manages documentation for imports, and performs additional tasks as assigned. Requires handling confidential information and cross-training in other responsibilities.

Provide customs and trade advisory services including HTS classification, regulatory research, binding rulings, valuation, USMCA and PGA compliance, client liaison, complex data analysis, and support senior advisors. Resolve import/export issues and ensure U.S. regulatory compliance while meeting project timelines.

Manage customs bond applications, renewals, billings, and Powers of Attorney; monitor bond sufficiency; maintain regulatory records; liaise with customers, sureties, and internal teams; support compliance, operations, and continuous improvement to ensure uninterrupted import activity.

Lead and develop a team of Bond Specialists to ensure accurate, compliant processing of bonds, powers of attorney, importer identity verification, and recordkeeping. Oversee policy, controls, audits, enhanced due diligence, and metrics; serve as escalation point for clients and surety providers; manage POA renewals and drive process improvements while maintaining CBP regulatory compliance and high customer service standards.
