Own the full lifecycle development of rocket combustion devices, including preburners, injectors, thrust chambers, and nozzles. Responsibilities include design, analysis, trade studies, requirements definition, qualification planning, manufacturing and test support, data interpretation, and flight and re-flight support. Serve as the technical expert for engine transients, coordinate subcomponent and vehicle-system needs, and create and maintain data-processing tools.

Leads integration, verification, and environmental testing of spacecraft flight mechatronic and motion systems. Develops test plans, automation, data acquisition, ground support equipment, and technical documentation. Integrates motor control electronics, motors, actuators, and mechanisms; performs closed-loop characterization and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Investigates anomalies, drives root-cause corrective actions, and collaborates with design, controls, and systems engineering teams on requirements and V&V activities.

Ensures the quality of procured mechanical components, services, and processes through supplier audits, inspection strategies, non-conformance reporting, CAPA, PFMEA, and corrective-action verification. Uses CMMs, laser trackers, GD&T, and precision measurement techniques to validate complex components. Partners with engineering, production, and suppliers on manufacturability, tolerance stack-ups, NPI, APQP, PPAP, process improvement, cost reduction, and supplier performance metrics.

Designs, builds, operates, and maintains hardware-in-the-loop systems for spacecraft buses. Performs hands-on testing with flight hardware and test equipment, analyzes test data, troubleshoots anomalies, supports launch vehicle simulations, and creates technical documentation. The role collaborates with cross-disciplinary teams, vendors, and customers to verify system functionality and performance while supporting mission-critical test operations.

Develop, validate, optimize, and deploy EO/IR image-processing and computer vision algorithms for space-based sensor payloads. Build image-system modeling and simulation frameworks, synthesize imagery for machine learning and validation, detect and track low-SNR objects, and transition algorithms to real-time software and firmware implementations. Analyze datasets, troubleshoot deployed systems, document performance, support technical milestones, and present results to government and technical stakeholders.

Supply Chain Intern supporting sourcing, procurement, supplier relationship management, cost reduction, and delivery of hardware for space systems and launch products. The role provides mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on experience with supply chain challenges. Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant degree program, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, have supply chain corporate experience, and work full-time onsite for at least 24 consecutive weeks.

Supports Rocket Lab’s RF Products team with testing and productionization of transceivers and RF products. The intern collaborates with mentors and engineering teams, applies engineering concepts to real hardware challenges, participates in technical development projects, and provides progress updates. The role is full-time, on-site in Long Beach, California, for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
