Lead the global technical accounting function, providing US GAAP oversight for complex transactions, product launches, reporting, and judgmental estimates. Develop accounting policies, oversee SOX compliant internal controls, prepare PCAOB compliant technical memos, and support regional finance teams. Drive controllership modernization through workflow automation, AI adoption, and implementation of new accounting standards while partnering with Product, Business, and Finance teams in a high growth environment.

Leads independent monitoring of Airwallex’s global financial crime compliance framework, assessing AML and sanctions controls, identifying gaps and emerging risks, and driving remediation. The role builds risk-based monitoring across key FCC areas, reports program effectiveness and risk exposure to senior leadership and the Board, and partners with FCC, MLRO, Risk, Legal, Product, Operations, and Technology stakeholders.

Leads Airwallex’s global Onboarding and Financial Crime Operations organization across KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, investigations, and periodic reviews. Owns strategy, staffing, operating procedures, performance management, controls, documentation, and continuous improvement across multiple jurisdictions. Partners with Compliance, Risk Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to balance risk, customer experience, scalability, and cost. Drives AI and automation transformation, manages outsourced capacity, and ensures consistent operational execution across markets.
