People in Los Angeles take shopping seriously. Casually meandering from store to store is no longer the norm as people seek out more unique boutiques throughout the city, creating loads of fashionista frustration.

Hoping to inject some efficiency into the process, Purveyour launched in Los Angeles last week to help travelers and locals navigate the fashion scene with ease.

With a search feature for both brands and stores, the app can guide even the pickiest shoppers to places that fit their interests. Users can search through a store’s inventory to make sure their desired brands and items will be on the shelves when they arrive. Once selected, the stores can be geographically organized into an itinerary to ensure the most efficient shopping experience.

Created by two former Wells Fargo employees and UNC grads, the app’s search function was something sorely missing from the online fashion world, said co-founders David Jackson and Dante Nall.

“When I’d go to other cities, I’d make it a point to visit all the stores I read about in GQ and Complex just to see what all the hype was about,” Jackson said. “In that process, I was showing people boutiques and independent stores they had no clue about since most people just go to the mall when they travel.”

Since the LA fashion scene is scattered through its widely-spread neighborhoods, the app can be an asset for local shoppers— however, it’s discovery features play a much larger part when the user is on the road.

“If you went to New York and had a bunch of stores in SoHo, if you’re not organized, you’d spend an hour and a half just walking around in circles,” added Jackson. “With the app you can reorganize the stores on your list by proximity.”

Regarding themselves as a more advanced Yelp for shopping, Purveyour will also be partnering with StylingOn to provide personal shopping guidance at select stores on the app. The app features 900 retail stores and 700 brands across 13 cities so shoppers can now take heed of Purveyour’s montra— “Less searching, More Shopping.”
