Santa Monica-based fintech startup Fair is joining forces with General Assembly this week for a night dedicated to something all tech companies use: big data. Join Ryan Naughton, director of data engineering, to hear about how the company is leveraging data that helps the company make smarter business decisions.

What is the Lean Product Development Process by OpenX Senior PM, Tuesday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Another company in the seemingly unending process of onboarding talent is Pasadena-based adtech startup OpenX, which will be hosting an event this week at the Product School in DTLA. Entrepreneurs and interested parties alike will want to hear Stuart Moncada detail how businesses can determine target customers, identify needs and specify an MVP's feature set.

Music, Philosophy and Design Birthday Bash!, Wednesday, January 17 at 6 p.m.

Kluge, an LA-based interactive digital agency, is hosting an event at the company's Playa Vista HQ all designers will be interested in. Stop by and hear about new techniques, listen to some live jazz music, grab a drink or two and meet some like-minded individuals in a casual, fun setting.

Women's Voices in Tech Networking Happy — with Special Guest Cassie Betts, Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30 p.m.

This week marks the second ever Women’s Voice in Tech happy hour event, with local entrepreneur Cassie Betts, who serves as founder and CEO of fashion-tech startup District2.co and director of tech learning for Black Women in Tech. Stop by and hear about Betts' journey, learn what she's doing to support the community and mingle with some brilliant men and women who call LA home.

The Year of the 狗 — 2018 Kickoff Party, Thursday, January 18 at 8 p.m.

The Ivy Plus Society kicks off the year of the dog at The Blind Dragon, an Asian-inspired lounge in West Hollywood this week with an event featuring everything from simple networking opportunities to high-end karaoke. Recommended attire for the event is described as "smart casual," but if you do decide to serenade the audience with "Dancing Queen" or "I Believe In A Thing Called Love," you should plan accordingly.
