433 people from Austin tech sign letter opposing bathroom bills

Self Lender raises $5M Series A
Two-year old startup Self Lender completed a $5 million Series A financing round on Tuesday led by Silverton Partners, Deepspace Ventures and Accion Venture Lab. CEO and co-founder said they will use the funding toward expanding their engineering and operations teams. [Built In Austin]
Embark moves to Boston, closes $4.5M in funding
Austin startup Embark recently announced that it has uprooted its operations to Boston and raised $4.5 million in funding. The company develops dog DNA kits for pet owners, breeders and vets and will use the funding to expand their selection of DNA tests. [Built In Boston]
Upland Software acquires Waterfall International
At the end of last week, Austin-based Upland Software announced that it had acquired Waterfall International, a cloud-based mobile messaging company headquartered out of San Francisco. Through the $24 million buyout, Waterfall’s product will combine with Upland’s mobile messaging solution and be renamed together as Upland Mobile Messaging. Snow Software grows US presence with key sales hires
Stockholm-based Snow Software continues its US scaling plans with the appointments of five sales management roles. In its US headquarters in Austin, Snow appointed Marlon Oliver to its VP of sales in North America. Oliver relocated from the company’s UK office to join Snow’s CEO Axel King here in town. Sizmek acquires Rocket Fuel for $125.5 million
On Tuesday, Austin-based Sizmek announced its plans to acquire its competitor Rocket Fuel for $125.5 million. Rocket Fuel went public in 2013 when it was valued at approximately $2 billion. Sizmek develops software analytics that support advertisers with their digital marketing campaigns. The two companies plan to combine their technologies. [Austin Business Journal]
