Main Street Hub closes $27M debt refinancing

Main Street Hub closed a $27 million debt refinancing and expansion led by Silicon Valley Bank. In Wednesday's announcement, the company said it will direct the funds toward strengthening its technology and sales operations. To date, Main Street Hub has now raised over $70 million since it launched in 2010. With 500 employees across their HQ Austin location and New York City office, the startup is planning even more hiring in 2017. [Built In Austin]

 

National Instruments open IoT collaborative center

On Wednesday, National Instruments (NI) announced the opening of the NI Industrial IoT Lab at its Austin headquarters. The facility will offer a space where companies can work together on industrial IoT technologies and solutions, focusing on microgrid control and communication, advanced control for manufacturing, and asset monitoring for heavy equipment. Blue Prism opens Austin office

U.K.-based Blue Prism announced the opening of their Austin Global Technical Innovation Center and Customer Support hub. The new office, located off N. Mopac and Far West Boulevard, will offer support for the company's growing American customer base for its robot automation software. While no plans have yet been announced for wide-scale hiring, Blue Prism's Austin team will be focused on technical support and product marketing. [Press Release

 

New board members on Austin Chamber of Commerce include tech leaders

Twelve new board members were named to the Austin Chamber of Commerce and will serve through Dec. 31, 2019. Of the dozen, half hail from the tech industry including: Joseph Kopser, moovel Group's global president; Ross Sabolcik, vice president and general manager at Silicon Labs; Sara Spivey, chief marketing officer at Bazaarvoice; Sean Spector, Dropoff's CEO; Jennifer Wuamett, senior vice president and deputy general counsel for NXP Semiconductors; and Kevin Whitlow, Dell EMC's senior vice president of support and deployment services. Pivot3 makes two new key hires

To assist with Pivot3's expansion into Canada, the Austin-based company has brought on Grant Aitken as country manager and Ian Clarke as regional sales manager. The two will lead, develop and execute the sales strategy for the Canadian marketplace in hyperconverged technology. [Press Release]
