Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for world class software to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with intuitive, flexible fund management software, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a product-focused Senior Software Engineer (full stack) to help drive the evolution of our Core product experience - these are features that our customers use every day and will form the foundation of our platform. The Core team is focused on launching new features and making existing features more robust, intuitive, and engaging. You will work across the tech stack, partnering closely with design and product to ship features that directly impact customer engagement and satisfaction.

The right candidate brings extensive full stack engineering experience, a product mindset, and a passion for building tools that solve real user problems.

What You'll Do

To thrive in this role, you must be an entrepreneurial engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and cares deeply about user experience.

  • Build: Design and ship fullstack product features that enhance customer workflows.

  • Lead: Identify and drive new initiatives while mentoring junior engineers

  • Partner: Work closely with problem experts to design elegant, flexible solutions that solve our clients’ problems while being forward-thinking about future use cases

Who You Are
  • Collaborative. You collaborate well across teams, can distill and incorporate feedback, and communicate clearly and concisely

  • Product Vision. You have a full understanding of how to identify the true needs of the user through research, build through a user-centric lens, and create elegant and functional experiences. You have a relentless product mindset that drives you not only to contribute to engineering execution, but to plan, design, implement, and test features to perfect the user experience

  • Leader. You're eager to shape our technical foundation and will level up team practices and processes. You can take broad guidance and determine the best path forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable wearing multiple hats

  • Strategic. You see both the forest and the trees: think big picture, execute fine details. You can plan for the long term while navigating short-term tradeoffs

This Could Be a Great Fit If You...
  • Have 5+ years of working experience building and shipping modern web applications across the stack

  • Have led product initiative and taken features from concept to launch, with real customer impact

  • Are comfortable working with server-side languages and frameworks (we’re tech agnostic in interviews, but use Python and Django in practice)

  • Have experience with frontend frameworks, preferably React

  • Enjoy solving customer-facing problems that require both technical depth and thoughtful UX

  • Are comfortable working across the full stack in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities

  • Have experience with relational databases

  • Have experience with cloud infrastructure is a plus (AWS preferred)

  • Have work experience at a startup, preferably early stage

Benefits
  • We offer a competitive salary + equity package, comprehensive benefits, and a flexible family-friendly work environment. Some of our perks include:

    • Comprehensive healthcare benefits

      • Maybern covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums

      • HSA & FSA plans

    • Family-Friendly policies

      • Paid parental leave

    • Flexible schedule

      • Flexible PTO / sick leave

      • WFH as needed to fit your needs

    • 401k

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
