About dot.cards

dot.cards is building the platform for what happens after people connect in the real world. Our connected hardware and software help individuals and businesses share information and build relationships. With more than 2.5 million devices sold, we combine real-world distribution with a growing software platform spanning digital profiles, mobile apps, and subscription products. We are a revenue-backed company based in Los Angeles, entering our next phase of growth.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Manager, Lifecycle & Retention to build and lead our lifecycle marketing function. You will own the lifecycle funnels for our mobile app, consumer subscriptions, and ecommerce business, helping customers discover value, build product habits, and grow with dot.cards.

Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will define the customer lifecycle, identify the moments that lead to lasting engagement, and establish the milestones and metrics that guide our growth. You will combine customer insight, behavioral data, and creative thinking to improve activation, conversion, and retention across our products.

This is a senior, hands-on role with the autonomy to set direction, prioritize opportunities, and lead initiatives from strategy through execution. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design to shape how customers experience dot. and build a lifecycle function that scales with the business.

What You Will Own
  • Lifecycle strategy and roadmap. Define customer journeys, lifecycle stages, activation milestones, and growth priorities across our products.

  • Mobile app lifecycle. Own the mobile app lifecycle funnel from install and signup through onboarding, activation, feature adoption, ongoing engagement, and reactivation. Help users reach meaningful value sooner and build consistent product habits.

  • Consumer subscription lifecycle. Own the Profile+ lifecycle funnel from free-to-trial and trial-to-paid conversion through adoption, renewal, retention, and win-back. Grow retained subscribers and customer lifetime value.

  • Ecommerce lifecycle. Own the ecommerce lifecycle funnel from lead capture and nurture through first purchase, cart and checkout recovery, post-purchase engagement, and repeat purchase. Improve purchase conversion and incremental revenue.

  • Customer communications. Lead personalized email, SMS, push, and in-app programs that connect customer needs with relevant products, features, and next steps.

  • Measurement and experimentation. Establish KPIs for each funnel, evaluate performance across customer segments and cohorts, and use experiments and insights to guide continuous improvement.

  • Lifecycle platform and creative quality. Own Customer.io, audience strategy, personalization, and the quality and consistency of lifecycle messaging.

  • Cross-functional growth initiatives. Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design to improve customer journeys across ecommerce, mobile, and web.

What We Are Looking For
  • A track record of independently building and leading lifecycle programs for consumer software, subscription, or product-led SaaS businesses.

  • Experience defining customer journeys, activation milestones, and success metrics, with demonstrated improvements in engagement, conversion, or retention.

  • Advanced, hands-on Customer.io experience and a deep understanding of behavioral segmentation, personalization, and multichannel marketing.

  • Strong analytical skills across funnels, cohorts, and experimentation, with the ability to connect customer behavior to business performance.

  • Technical fluency with customer data and event-driven marketing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and Data.

  • Excellent writing and creative judgment, with experience shaping messaging and directing creative work across the customer journey.

  • Strong ownership, curiosity, and initiative. You can bring structure to an open-ended opportunity, make thoughtful decisions, and lead cross-functional work through to results.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with connected hardware and companion mobile apps.

  • Experience spanning ecommerce and recurring-revenue products.

  • Experience launching mobile push, SMS, or in-app messaging programs.

  • SQL and product analytics fluency.

Compensation

$130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, based on relevant experience and skills.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
