We're looking for a strong enterprise and midmarket SaaS focused VP of Sales reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this position will be responsible for driving new electric and gas utility adoption and accelerating Enervee’s overall revenue growth. This role can be based anywhere in the US. It will be working with utility partners across both PST, CST and EST time zones and with the majority of the Enervee team based in California.

How You Can Make An Impact

  • Lead the sales organization with responsibility for new business, upsells and renewals across investor owned, municipal and cooperative utility companies in North America
  • Work in partnership with the Chief Growth Officer to define sales targets, budgets, hiring needs and a strategic plan for realizing year over year revenue growth
  • Own the sales pipeline and revenue forecasts, providing regular updates and reports to the executive team
  • Be the in house expert on competition and Enervee’s core differentiation
  • Work with the marketing org to help define and build inbound/outbound KPIs along with optimizing leads, managing contact flow and identifying collateral needs.
  • Manage the performance of sales directors and account executives, providing coaching, deal reviews and mentorship
  • Hire new account executives and other sales roles to support the growth of the team
  • Provide overall guidance and strategic direction on enterprise and midmarket deals, to maximize ACV and chance of contracting through sole source (or a directed RFP for larger deals)
  • Drive the contracting process to shorten time to close, providing support to the sales team and legal on negotiating strategy and contract redlines
  • Travel to pitch Enervee’s solutions to utilities across the US and Canada with your sales team
  • Determine key industry conferences to sponsor/attend and work with the marketing team to define target audiences and collateral needs
  • Build relationships with senior executives throughout the sales process and post go live, to ensure we are delivering on key strategic goals for our utility partners and identify growth opportunities
  • Partner closely with the Customer Success organization to ensure seamless handoff from closed deal to implementation, onboarding and ongoing success
  • Collaborate with the Product, Marketing, Business Development and Regulatory teams to involve relevant Enervee stakeholders in the sales process and feed market requirements back into our product development process

What You Bring To The Team

  • 6+ years of experience leading a Sales organization, at an enterprise SaaS company, through rapid growth
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets in the enterprise and midmarket segments with utilities or other large enterprises in a highly regulated industry
  • Strong ability to inspire, build and lead a sales team and coaching/mentoring them to success
  • Experience working with the MEDDIC or MEDDPICC sales qualification framework
  • History of strong win rate with competitive RFP processes
  • Travel in the US and Canada, up to 33% of time
  • Hands on experience negotiating MSA and SOW agreements with large enterprises
  • Experience building strategic relationships with senior executives at large enterprise accounts, working with ACV of over $1M
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex business challenges by aligning internal and external stakeholders on a common goal
  • High organizational intelligence about how enterprise organizations typically operate, preference for prior experience working with investor owned electric and gas utilities
  • Fluency in common sales CRM tools, mac-savvy and proficient with Google Apps
  • Passion for saving energy and having a positive impact on the environment

Enervee is a remote-first, distributed team, located in 27 states. Our HQ is in the trendy Abbot Kinney Blvd, a mile long strip of the latest fashion, art and food. Venice, CA is known for its canals, beach, and ocean front walk - a 2.5 mile pedestrian promenade.
