Vice President, Business Development

Boingo is the leading indoor wireless solution provider focused on acquiring and retaining big venues with large audiences through multi-year contracts. Boingo has seen tremendous growth providing connectivity solutions for large venues and wireless carriers. The Vice President will be responsible for managing existing engagements with key customers and new business development through expansion into new accounts.

Boingo’s business is poised to experience continued significant growth as more and more mobile data is consumed at airports, stadiums, arenas, office buildings, hospitals and military bases. Boingo is experiencing strong demand for our services, but the market is dynamic and incredibly competitive. To achieve speed to market, it is critical that the Vice President of Business Development builds relationships, understands the market, and has the experience needed to succeed.

To be successful in this role, the Vice President should:

  • Have existing contacts and an established reputation within the telecommunications ecosystem including contacts at public venues, government agencies and wireless carriers (Verizon in particular).
  • Represent Boingo in all business dealings including acquiring new customers and maintaining existing customers
  • Support existing Sales and Account Management efforts by providing leadership, input on strategy and delivering an executive presence with customers
  • Strategically sell Boingo’s suite of services at various technical levels within our target accounts including VP, and SVP, and C-Level.
  • Directly negotiate, structure, and sign revenue generating contracts more than $10M
  • Work cross-functionally to drive business improvements to align with carrier 5G roadmaps
  • Have proven sales ownership experience with references

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of sales or business development preferably in the technology, telecom or wireless verticals
  • Proven track record of closing large deals (>$5M) and regularly meeting or exceeding plan
  • Ability to negotiate and execute contracts with little oversight
  • Strong understanding of wireless ecosystem and 5G technologies
  • Capacity to work independently and adapt to Boingo’s fast-paced and dynamic culture.
  • Proven leadership with references
