National Sales Manager Retail Channels

Golden Hippo Media is currently looking for a National Sales Manager Retail Channels who will be responsible for making direct sales calls at retail headquarters. This position is focused on developing and growing new retail customer sales. The position is responsible for effectively communicating strategies and tactics to drive overall category growth for our customers. A strong background in Customer Management within the Retail Channel is preferred and experience from pet related retail is required.

WHAT YOUR DAY IS LIKE
- Achieve/exceed sales performance goals
- Solicit new business in designated retail channels to achieve annual goals, must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to close new accounts.
- Develop and manage mutually agreed upon annual account plans
- Quarterly business reviews with customer’s category management teams
- Define specific broker goals and expectations
- Manage trade funds
- Work with internal marketing team on specific programs and company initiatives
- Develop promo calendar with optimal dates and holiday timing to grow volume
- Other duties may be assigned.
BEST CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing/Management/Finance
- 7-10 years of account management sales experience (in field)
- Prior experience working with pet retailers is a must.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook
- Oral communication – speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations; demonstrates strong presentation skills
- Background in Sales Leadership Training
- Strong forecast and planning skills
- Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Planning/Organizing - uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks
