The Marketing Manager, Dens, will lead and oversee the Merit marketing strategy for Germany and the Nordics (Norway and Sweden). In this role you will lead marketing and PR strategies across all marketing channels to reach the Merit consumers and effectively communicate the value proposition that drives brand awareness and sales.

You will work with a global team and localised team (with agency resources) to ensure localised campaigns align to the Merit brand and the local consumer.  The role will have direct responsibility for the strategy for brand/partnerships, PR and influencers, CRM, and trade marketing. 

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment. They need to be able to both build strategy and advise the EU Marketing Director on marketing priorities but also lead execution at the local market level. This role requires a team player able to work in a small, nimble organisation with a global HQ based in the USA.  Most importantly, this person needs to be excited to build Merit into a global beauty brand!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and execute on localised marketing strategies that are cohesive, consistent, and resonate with the Merit consumer to drive brand awareness and sales goals within the region.
  • Project manage local marketing initiatives, ensuring key milestones are met on time and on budget. Initiatives include:
    • Developing and executing on localised marketing strategies for NPD launches
    • Developing local Influencer strategies and managing execution of seeding, etc.
    • Coordinate events execution with decorator, sales team, training team and retailer to ensure retail excellence and perfect execution
    • Managing PR agency and relationship
    • Establishing and executing on key marketing and partnership opportunities
    • Planning and executing on events
    • Setting localised CRM strategies
    • Managing UK marketing budget across all marketing channels
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of local market trends, demographics and customer needs, behaviours and reactions.
  • Manage the local marketing content calendar across cross-functional departments.
  • Produce campaign post-mortems and carry learnings forward to future initiatives.
  • Remain informed on both global and localised goals and leverage information to make informed, data based marketing decisions.
  • Stay informed about competitors within the region: identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation based on insights.
  • Carefully consider current and future business objectives, opportunities, and costs when making decisions, incorporating the short and long-term trade-offs.
  • Proactively anticipate and rectify obstacles to goal achievement using critical problem solving skills, target specific KPI’s relevant to the business.

Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3+ years in generalist marketing roles (strong preference for candidates with beauty experience).
  • A successful record of owning the creation and execution on marketing briefs that resulted in significant ROI.
  • A thorough understanding of Influencer marketing, with an ability to create campaigns that resonate on social media and gain brand awareness.
  • Extensive experience developing stories and compelling content to drive conversion.
  • The ability to effectively partner with and manage local PR agencies.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, including proven ability to manage projects and partner with various levels in the organisation.
  • High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external vendors in a way that represents the brand effectively.
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • An ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction.
  • Passion for beauty and ability to demonstrate and motivate teams.
