Position Summary

The Manager, Product Marketing will report to the AVP, Product Marketing and is responsible for leading the end-to-end development and launch of new and existing products, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, equity, and business objectives. This role oversees all aspects of the product development process, including concept creation, formulation, packaging, shade development, pricing, product copy, and cost management, while driving timely and successful product launches. The position requires a balance of strategic thinking, creativity, trend awareness, and strong project management capabilities to identify growth opportunities and execute innovative products that resonate with consumers and support brand growth.


Essential Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and brainstorm new products through meetings with the overall Marketing, R&D, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams; also by attending trade shows and conducting competitive shopping and trend research.
  • Lead the briefing process for new product launches with internal cross-functional teams and external suppliers, assuring clear communication on spec sheets, benchmarks, and timelines.
  • Ensure progress of submissions until desired attributes and performance are achieved.
  • Work with R&D, Sourcing, and Operations to ensure timely submissions, approvals, testing, and troubleshooting any production issues.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, product volume forecast, and Cost of Goods targets.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to ensure cohesive product presentation, packaging execution, and communication on the cosmetics wall.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of samples for retailer meetings, PR events, advertising, and communications development.
  • Develop and maintain pricing strategy for North America (US and Canada).
  • Liaise with the International team to ensure products are globally compliant.
  • Ensure brand message and product benefit points of difference are appropriately reflected in packaging copy and design.
  • Evaluate competitive new products and present comprehensive analysis.
  • Conduct product post-launch analyses for SKU rationalization and product assortment strategy
  • Present at internal sales and external retailer meetings.
  • Travel to factories and outside vendors (US and International) for development/shade matching/approval of new product concepts.
  • Field products and concepts through market research and solicit sales feedback to further improve product offering, concepts, and formulas.
  • Manage, coach, and develop product marketing talent.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed and directed by management.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience.
  • FDM Color Cosmetic experience a must.

  • Good at prioritizing workload.
  • A proven ability to foster innovation.
  • Creative problem solving by developing data analysis, demonstrating strong financial acumen, identify trends and suggesting result-oriented action plans.
  • A thorough understanding of interactive communications and can build and foster trust across functional groups.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Power Point/Word.
