Manager, Payroll
We’re looking for a Manager, Payroll to join Team Snapchat! As a member of the Payroll team, you will help manage the team that pays our employees. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate closely with HR, HRIS, Stock Admin and Tax.
What you’ll do:
Lead people, projects, and global payroll initiatives
Build strong cross functional business partner relationships
Artfully balance competing priorities while expectation setting with the business deliverable timeframes
Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner while accounting for the funding of all payroll deductions to third parties and tax authorities
Ensure appropriate payroll controls and backup systems are in place
Help process payroll related to stock based compensation
Monitor vendor performance as it relates to compliance, contractual agreements, and service quality
Ensure front-end processes function with appropriate levels of control and security
Partner with HR and vendors to ensure proper payroll and benefit accounting, compliance, and management of end-to-end payroll processes
Establish efficient payroll processes that are best in class
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required
Ensure compliance with required wage and hour laws
Serve as point person with auditors to satisfy payroll requests
Help manage and drive various payroll audits
Participate/lead cross-functional projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma concepts to improve processes
Help coordinate payroll considerations for mobile employees and expats
Assist in implementing payrolls in new countries
Ensure SOX compliance with regard to Payroll controls
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, human resources, or a related area, or equivalent work experience
Prior payroll experience with knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws
Experience in payroll management for a large multi-state employer
Preferred qualifications:
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of general payroll tax requirements and understanding of how payroll transactions impact the general ledger
Previous experience processing payroll related to RSUs
Active APA membership and CPP designation
Experience with qualified benefit plans, 401(k) plans, and stock plan administration
5+ years of payroll management experience
Experience processing & coordinating international payrolls
Excel proficient, subject matter expert preferred
HRIS system experience preferred with Workday system knowledge a plus
Strong executive presence with the ability to interface with senior leadership
