The Role

  • Manage our benefits vendors, enrollment, and billing.
  • Own our HR systems and design our documentation and workflows.
  • Develop and administer budgets, schedules and performance standards.
  • Handle employee questions related to leaves of absence, benefits and payroll.
  • Serve as first level resolution with employees with regards to policies, processes and interpersonal conflicts.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the interpretation of company policies and procedures as they relate to individuals and company objectives.
  • Help design and administer a Total Rewards program that leverages the support our teams want and need.
  • Build and update a scalable and competitive compensation and benefits program in line with the market.
  • Collaborate and direct the delivery of excellent HR services and programs to address critical business needs.
  • Employ effective measures of success, especially in the areas of short-term and long-term disability, annual benefit enrollment and ADA compliance.  

Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years in the HR space. A strong background in benefits and compensation, systems and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state labor law, with an emphasis on California compliance.
  • A thorough understanding of US employment-related laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and state laws and regulations covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment is preferred.
  • Experience with employee classification standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively use data for informed decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to influence and outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound decision making judgement while complying with policies, procedures, state and federal regulations.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Human Resources or related field and/or certification.
