Sr. Director, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting
We’re looking for a Senior Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to join Snap Inc. Working closely with the CAO, this role will manage all aspects of financial reporting, close and technical accounting processes; serve as a partner and advisor to the finance and accounting team; and provide both accounting oversight and strategic insight into major issues and initiatives.
This individual will be a business-oriented professional, adept at executing strategies and plans, leading positive change, and managing projects as well as expectations. It is imperative that this person is a change agent who has a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit.. S/he will be able to adeptly navigate sometimes ambiguous, yet exciting times at this growing company and will be motivated to develop, shape and influence both the team and business they are helping to build.
Responsibilities
Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Responsible for timely and accurate external reporting, including primary responsibility of 10-Q, 10-K and statutory filings
Evaluate day to day and strategic transactions for proper accounting treatment and maintain the internal controls over financial reporting
Implement new accounting policies and procedures to respond to changes in internal policies, SEC/GAAP, and SOX 404 requirements
Draft technical memos, research papers and accounting positions
Provide on-going technical training for the accounting organization
Review and ensure accuracy of stock-based compensation calculations
Key interface with outside auditors on technical accounting positions
Provide technical accounting direction to company’s foreign entities
Collaborate with the CAO to develop and maintain financial accounting policies and standards
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA
7+ years of Big 4 Public accounting experience
12+ years of public and private industry experience
SOX 404 and accounting system implementation experience
Experience with international subsidiary consolidation and foreign currency translation
Preferred Qualifications
Strong leadership experience, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Hands on leader, with strong execution, follow-up, attention to detail and roll up your sleeves mentality
A team player, adept at building relationships within finance and across the organization
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations
Prior experience in actively drafting and preparing SEC filings, including XBRL tagging
Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think outside the box
Able to keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracy
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
