Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
We’re seeking a Manager of FP&A to take ownership of budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, pricing analytics, and strategic planning. This is a new role that will lead the financial function at SimplePractice and have the responsibility of thinking creatively to define how FP&A can best serve the needs of our business. You will learn our product and overall company in order to deeply understand all the context around financials at SimplePractice. You’ll work closely with our CEO to provide the necessary tools and insights he needs for operating the business. Additionally, you will work closely with the CFO of our parent company, EngageSmart, and report to the EngageSmart Director of FP&A. The ideal candidate will have approximately 4-7 years of progressive experience in a combination of investment banking, private equity, and VC/PE backed portfolio companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain the budget and rolling forecasts, interim reporting and cash forecasting process for the Company
- Manage the financial forecast updates, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow modeling, maintaining a close understanding of the business risks and opportunities
- Responsible for preparing reporting to EngageSmart and Simple Practice board updates whenever required
- Conduct monthly P&L and business reviews with business unit head on both financial results and vs key operating metrics
- Develop Customer Lifetime Value Analytics, establish robust pricing and refine GTM strategy
- Own SAAS KPI reporting and planning for the business unit
- Provide input through business modeling and Pro-forma analyses to support strategic decision-making in day-to-day operations and new programs
- Work side by side with EngageSmart accounting team on topics such as variance analysis & reporting
- Facilitate improved reporting and communication of goals/performance throughout the organization
- Generate Internal and external reporting
- Conceptualize and assist in putting in place scalable processes and tools
- Focus on process improvements key areas to build integrated reporting tools, accelerate internal controls, and streamline current systems
- Ad hoc special analysis projects (i.e. profitability analysis of products & services)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with financial planning software best practices and build out (Adaptive Insights or Netsuite preferred or equivalent EPM, VBA skills required)
- Expert level in Microsoft Excel, Access & PowerPoint
- Experience with SAAS business model and requisite KPIs and Analytics
- Excellent analysis skills and the ability to identify issues/opportunities and recommend solutions
- Detail-oriented individual with a tremendous amount of curiosity
- Must show initiative, be hands-on, work well both independently on projects and as part of a team
- Proven ability to multitask and work through ambiguous requirements
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work issues at all levels within the organization
- Excellent project management skills and ability to drive projects to completion
- Flexibility to meet continuously changing priorities and challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to develop moderately complex financial and operational models using spreadsheets and database software
- Demonstrated financial modeling knowledge and skills. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
