In this role, you will set the technical strategy for PMC material and component-level processes, from
early development through qualification and production continuous improvement, delivering producible components that mature from technology readiness (TRL) to manufacturing readiness (MRL). You will establish new best practices and design requirements, implement recent advancements in composites technology, and manage and communicate technical and programmatic risk to senior leaders.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and drive the strategic path to develop, qualify, and implement new PMC processes, using appropriate MRL/TRL mechanisms, to deliver on Future of Flight programs.
- Lead process development through designed experiments (DOEs), building deep understanding of how process parameters affect final part quality and performance.
- Own technical program management for PMC process development efforts, including planning, execution, and technical and programmatic risk management, with regular communication to senior leaders.
- Integrate new and improved PMC processes into manufacturing and MRO operations, partnering with shops, suppliers, and design engineering to ensure producibility of components.
- Establish composites best practices and design requirements; author and integrate process specifications, technical documentation, and technical publications.
- Monitor composites industry trends and engage with external partners, material suppliers, and research organizations to bring recent technology advancements into GE Aerospace processes.
- Apply commercial and business acumen to process decisions, considering component cost, repair cost, and lifecycle impact.
