We're looking to grow our Digital Product team with a new Director, Digital Product, to own our site experience. You'll work with stakeholders across the company to define the future of e-commerce for our customers. What new features should we launch? How do we prioritize what to test? What metrics should we optimize for, and how? We have a lot of questions, and we're looking for somebody with A) answers or B) better questions. (A/B test pun retroactively intended.)

If you are insatiably curious, rigorously analytical, and have great product vision... let's do this.

Please note that this is a hybrid position of 4 days/week in our Los Angeles office.

What You'll Do

  • Define and own the digital product roadmap, leveraging A/B testing, research, and directly driving key business priorities
  • Utilize analytics to monitor traffic, customer behavior, sales trend and feedback to gain insights to drive ecommerce and membership KPIs
  • Lead sprint-to-sprint feature prioritization for core e-commerce and membership program
  • Manage team of visual merchandisers in charge of A/B testing, creating and optimizing product assortments and category landing pages, and driving product discovery funnel including onsite search and navigation
  • Lead UX/UI for our current site and for new Shopify front-end
  • Conduct research, map user journeys, and identify pain points and areas of growth for the business
  • Identify gaps in our existing customer experience and innovate new features and tools  that integrate user research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback
  • Understand customer taste and preference patterns across ecommerce and membership to  help inform and collaborate on personalization, search and filtering strategies
  • Drive effective and quick decision making and prioritization across stakeholders
  • Partner with Technical Project Manager to manage development timelines
  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, Customer Experience, Merchandising, Operations and Project Management to tie your roadmap into the bigger picture of our organization

What You Have

  • 6 years+ in digital product management
  • Experience developing features for a Shopify based site
  • Results-driven mindset – motivated by driving real impact, not just getting stuff done
  • Significant experience working with product analytics software like Heap, GA, and  Fullstory
  • A/B testing experience, ability to apply learnings to site merchandising improvements
  • Working knowledge of personalization strategies, approaches and high level  understanding of the more common algorithms and technologies
  • Analytical mindset about customer journeys
  • Attention to detail, especially as it translates to product delivery
  • A proven ability to work independently and as a manager
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Ambition and passion for moving quickly, while also open to new ideas. Able to  recognize when you’re wrong and move past your own mistakes

The base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 -$175,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the base salary range provided in this posting does not include any bonus, equity, or benefits you may be eligible for.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
