Job Summary

The CMG Digital Distribution team is seeking an experienced Catalog Migration Manager to work directly with the M&A and Distribution team on new catalog acquisitions by managing the process of receiving, staging, and distributing new catalogues in our proprietary music distribution software. The role is responsible for following and developing catalogue migration best practices, optimizing current workflows, tracking projects from start to finish and above all, ensuring a seamless transition of new catalogs on DSPs.


Responsibilities

  • Intake & receiving — Receive new catalogues from the M&A and distribution team following each acquisition, confirming scope and completeness of what's handed off. Manage multiple catalog acquisitions at the same time efficiently. 
  • Staging — Load and organize incoming metadata and assets in the internal distribution software ahead of review.
  • Metadata & asset validation — Collect, review, and validate metadata and assets against current DSP and internal style guidelines, flagging and resolving discrepancies before anything moves downstream.
  • Cross-team coordination — Work across business and operational teams, internal and external, spanning multiple businesses, to close gaps and keep each migration moving.
  • Distribution to DSPs — Deliver the validated catalogue through the internal distribution software, ensuring metadata and assets are accurate and guideline-compliant, for a seamless DSP transition.
  • Project tracking — Track each acquisition from start to finish in internal project-tracking software, managing multiple concurrent catalogue migrations efficiently.
  • Stakeholder reporting — Provide regular status updates to internal and external stakeholders on where each acquisition distribution stands.
  • Process improvement — Follow and help develop catalogue migration best practices, optimizing workflows based on what's learned across projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • At least 4 years of experience in digital music distribution, content management and/or catalog migrations working at a distributor.  
  • Understanding of DDEX standards.
  • Knowledge of audio, video, and image formats and specifications for distribution delivery.
  • Deep understanding of DSP metadata style guides and distribution. 
  • Experience working with complex metadata. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while remaining responsive and adaptable. 
  • Proficient in handling diverse data streams, with expertise in analyzing, managing, and constructing spreadsheets.
  • Proficiency with leading digital music platform interfaces, social media tools, and industry best practices.
  • Possesses clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and a persistent drive for problem-solving.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service alongside strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Applies resourcefulness, creativity, and interpersonal skills to successfully complete projects.

Pay Scale

  • $60,000 - $85,000 USD per year
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
