Los Angeles, often celebrated for its iconic entertainment industry, is equally a powerhouse in technological innovation and creativity.

The city remains a hotspot where ideas in e-commerce, healthcare, software development, sustainable technology, marketing and beyond are forged into reality by ambitious leaders and unified teams.

According to CompTIA’s most recent tech jobs report, in October, Los Angeles recorded 5,539 job postings, ranking it among the top metros in the country. Likewise, the city plays a significant role in the remote tech job market, with 996 job postings in the same month. Additionally, California is the leading state for AI job postings, with 2,956 openings.

These statistics reflect Los Angeles’ position as a key player in the national tech landscape, offering many opportunities in traditional and remote tech roles. Thrive Market, SimplePractice, Technossus, Ryvid and Golden Hippo are testaments to this spirit of innovation.

From Thrive Market’s personalized, accessible approach to online grocery shopping to SimplePractice’s software for health professionals, LA tech professionals are creating solutions for every niche. Technossus’s consultative prowess, Ryvid’s electric motorcycles and Golden Hippo’s creative marketing strategies further illustrate the diverse capabilities and entrepreneurial drive found in the city.

These five companies are more than just businesses; they are launchpads of ideas, growth and impactful technology — and they are all hiring now.

Christian Pitts
Senior Video Editor • Golden Hippo

Golden Hippo is a direct-to-consumer marketer specializing in health, beauty and pet care brands, known for its innovative marketing strategies and diverse brand portfolio.

What is notable about working at Golden Hippo? What differentiates it from other places you’ve worked?

For years before joining Golden Hippo, I was freelancing through various companies. One thing that makes Golden Hippo different from those companies is its desire for its employees to be themselves. I’ve never felt more encouraged to speak my mind, pursue a project because I believed in it or try to grow a specific skill set simply because I had the passion to learn it. Golden Hippo’s culture differs from other companies because it has a corporate support structure while keeping the start-up feel of letting employees grow into their desired roles.

We aren’t just button pushers — we’re encouraged to collaborate how we want to and pursue the next revolutionary idea for the industry. Until Golden Hippo, my perception had always been that the bigger the company, the more of a worker drone you’re wanted to be, but I was very quickly shown that isn’t the case here and I love it.

What do you think job seekers should know about working at your company? What would get them excited about joining the team?

Job seekers should approach this company with the mindset that they will get out of it what they put in. If you want a stable career with great benefits, you’ll get that at the baseline, but if you want to excel and show off your creativity, we’re more than happy to see you bring that to the table.

I love seeing applicants have a real passion for what they do and create because I still have that spark for my projects. Every campaign I work on is a new adventure, and it’s always exciting to work with so many talented individuals who actively want to hear the thoughts and opinions and see the skills of those they’re collaborating with. You get a very genuine sense of collaboration here, and being prepared to show your passion for what you create is a big plus.

Greg Lewis
Senior Consultant • Technossus

Technossus is a technology consulting firm specializing in cloud and data tech, providing IT solutions for healthcare, aerospace and finance industries with a focus on innovation and efficiency.

What is notable about working at Technossus? What differentiates it from other places you’ve worked?

Working at Technossus has been a cool, one-of-a-kind journey and different from my past consulting experiences. What sets us apart is the comprehensive level of service that defines our company. We deeply value being client-centric and future-focused simultaneously, and this commitment separates us from other companies in data and analytics consulting.

My role is in the analytics department, which goes past numbers and reports. I transform data into information, solve problems and create solutions that impact our clients’ bottom line. I leverage my expertise in modern technology stacks, business acumen and a deep understanding of our clients’ industries. We are true partners to our clients and believe that curiosity and collaboration are the keys to success.

Working alongside colleagues with industry-specific knowledge, I grow and learn something new daily, making me a more well-rounded consultant. Technossus is small enough for me to make an impact on the organization and large enough to provide the resources and tools I need to grow and develop. I appreciate that everyone lives our values, and those values drive how we partner with our clients as well.

What is the impact of the work you are doing? Paint a picture of what this means for your customers or users.

The impact of my work at Technossus is tangible and transformative for our clients. We don’t just provide data and analytics, we create a roadmap for their success. Our insights help them make informed decisions that drive efficiency and savings. One of my favorite projects was working with a client in the construction sector. We revamped and modernized their reporting and, from there, identified areas of operational improvement. This helped reduce their costs, improve vendor management and provide more value to their customers.

We don’t just provide data and analytics, we create a roadmap for our clients’ success.”

Our work extends beyond data analysis, though. We take the data and translate it into action. For example, in the biotech industry, our strategies led to improved inventory management. This meant less waste, lower costs and more budget space for research. The downstream effect is that customers can now find their favorite product consistently in stock and at a reasonable price.

Our work in the financial sector has enabled clients to identify and mitigate risks proactively. Our impact is about creating real-world, lasting changes that directly improve our clients’ ability to serve their customers.

Let’s imagine a working mom of three named Sarah. Our analytics improve her experience from the day she signs up on Thrive Market. Our data helps us suggest the best choices for Sarah by taking into account her food restrictions and allergies. So when Sarah’s daughter develops a nut allergy, we can point her toward safe snacks like Good Crisp and Annie’s Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks. Furthermore, we share some data insights with our vendor partners so they can develop healthier versions of products. This transparency means members like Sarah ultimately get options aligned with their needs and values.
