As we round out 2022, LA tech companies are making plans for the year ahead. A variety of names announced new office openings and others shared initiatives to grow their business with new funding and other developments. Learn more in the Built In LA Weekly Refresh.

Sega opened an office in LA. Video game company Sega is deepening its Western presence. The U.S. arm of the company, Sega of America, announced a new office in Irvine for its North American headquarters. The new space ​​spans about 31,700 square feet at Innovation Office Park and seats 235 employees. With indoor and outdoor workspace, the office enables onsite collaboration, ideation and media streaming opportunities. [Business Wire]

Several companies announced new LA offices this year. Across multiple industries, tech companies announced plans to grow their SoCal presences this year with new offices. The company offers a browser extension that connects users to the resale equivalents of branded items they’re already searching for. RepairSmith was acquired. Florida-based car retailer AutoNation announced its acquisition of RepairSmith, an automotive repair company, for $190 million. AutoNation serves more than 12 million people across the country. With this acquisition, the platform will provide RepairSmith’s services with its after-sale business.
