YOUR MISSION

As Video Editor for Hot Smart Rich, you will be responsible for editing the show’s longform episodes and helping deliver best-in-class visual storytelling from the initial assembly through to the final published episode.

Working closely with the show’s Executive Producer, you’ll shape conversations into compelling, engaging episodes that hold attention and reflect the creative ambition of Hot Smart Rich. You’ll have a strong instinct for story, pacing, emotion and entertainment, knowing when to let a moment breathe and when an edit needs to move.

You’ll take ownership of the quality and execution of every episode you work on, combining strong editorial judgement with excellent technical craft. You’ll be comfortable working independently, responding quickly to feedback and collaborating with the wider production, creative and social teams to continuously improve the show.

DAY TO DAY
  • Own the edit of Hot Smart Rich longform episodes from initial assembly through to final delivery.

  • Work closely with the Executive Producer to shape each episode’s narrative, pacing, structure and strongest editorial moments.

  • Turn long-form conversations into compelling episodes that maintain audience attention while preserving authenticity and emotional impact.

  • Identify opportunities to tighten, restructure or elevate conversations to create the strongest possible viewing experience.

  • Maintain a consistently high creative and technical standard across every Hot Smart Rich episode.

  • Bring strong editorial judgement to the edit, understanding what information is essential, what can be removed and where the story can be strengthened.

  • Use music, sound design, graphics, archive, imagery and other visual devices

  • Collaborate with producers, creatives, social teams and other editors to ensure the longform show connects effectively with the wider Hot Smart Rich content ecosystem.

  • Understand audience behaviour and use performance insights, including audience retention and watch-time data, to continually improve editing decisions.

  • Maintain an organised workflow by structuring project files logically, naming assets clearly and keeping timelines clean and manageable.

  • Maintain meticulous version control so changes can be tracked and previous iterations easily referenced.

  • Ensure project files, media and assets are securely backed up and kept up to date across local and cloud storage systems.

  • Deliver final edits correctly formatted and technically compliant for YouTube and other publishing platforms.

  • Proactively manage deadlines, flagging potential bottlenecks early and ensuring episodes are delivered on time without compromising quality.

  • Stay up to date with editing techniques, technology, AI tools and workflows that could improve the quality or efficiency of the Hot Smart Rich production process.

  • Support the wider creative ecosystem for Hot Smart Rich through videography & photography

WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3+ years of experience working in media or content either in-house, in agency, or freelance

  • Strong ability within the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, with a focus on Premiere Pro

  • Knowledge of longform & social media platforms, their video specifications, and trends

  • Exceptional commitment to organisation and organisational tools and software to ensure working priorities are tightly managed and files are kept up to date

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate and effectively collaborate with others
