The Capital Markets Grou

The Capital Markets Group (CMG) sits within Xsolla's Global Strategic Initiatives function and operates as the firm's institutional capital platform. The group originates, structures and executes financing and investment solutions across games and interactive entertainment.

The group operates multiple investment vehicles spanning debt financing and credit markets, alongside special situations and principal investment strategies serving the interactive entertainment ecosystem. These activities are supported by a proprietary market intelligence system, a global events and convening program, and a governed institutional relationship platform covering LPs, sovereign investors, family offices, banks and intermediaries across the Americas, MENA, APAC and Europe.

CMG operates from hubs in Los Angeles, New York, the Middle East and Singapore. The group is in its foundation stage: hires at every level join a live deal environment with executive sponsorship, meaningful ownership and the mandate to build a durable franchise rather than inherit one.

Role Overview

As Vice President, Investor Relations and Capital Formation, you will run the investor relations engine for the group's fund platform. You will own the relationship platform and the capital formation funnel end to end: segmentation and tiering, outreach and nurture, diligence and data room, investor communications and reporting. The role suits a candidate who has run fund marketing operations at an institutional standard and wants to build that function, and the team behind it, from the foundation.

    Key Responsibilities
    Capital Formation Operations
    • Run the funnel. Run the capital formation funnel end to end, from segmentation and tiering through outreach, nurture, diligence and close.

    • Manage diligence. Manage DDQs, the data room and subscription documents in partnership with fund counsel and fund administrators.

    • Coordinate roadshows. Plan and coordinate multi region roadshows and own the master investor calendar.

    • Support onboarding. Support investor onboarding, including KYC and AML processes, with fund administrators and counsel.

    • Investor Relations and Communications
      • Produce investor materials. Produce introductory materials, quarterly updates, announcements and invitations, with all communications cleared through Legal and fund counsel.

      • Prepare senior coverage. Ensure meeting briefings are prepared for senior coverage and that commitments made in meetings are tracked through to completion.

      • Integrate convening. Integrate the group's global events and convening program into the capital formation funnel.

      • Relationship Platform and Data Governance
        • Own the platform. Serve as Salesforce system administrator and data owner for the relationship platform, including schema, tiering and scoring, deduplication, enrichment and the interaction logging standard.

        • Report on the funnel. Produce funnel, coverage and data hygiene reporting for the weekly pipeline call and the monthly executive readout, and maintain the KPI dashboard.

        • Control access. Manage access controls and permissions on the relationship platform.

        • Team and Control
          • Develop the Analyst. Manage and develop the Analyst, Capital Markets Intelligence and CRM.

          • Operate within the rules. Operate within private placement marketing constraints and approval workflows, and maintain audit ready records across investor activity.

Candidate Profile

    Experience
    • 6 to 10 years of experience in investor relations, capital formation, private placement or fund marketing operations at an alternative asset manager, placement agent, fund administrator or investment bank.

    • Hands-on experience running DDQs, data rooms and subscription processes.

    • Exposure to multiple alternative strategies, such as credit, special situations and private equity, is preferred, as is exposure to gaming, entertainment or technology investing.

    • Domain Expertise
      • Working knowledge of fund marketing compliance and private placement rules.

      • Familiarity with institutional reporting standards and standard DDQ formats is preferred.

      • Skills and Competencies
        • Demonstrated accountability as a CRM administrator and data owner, ideally in Salesforce.

        • Experience with marketing automation tools and data providers such as Preqin or PitchBook is preferred.

        • Exceptional business writing skills.

        • Strong organization across multiple time zones and workstreams.

        • Discretion with confidential information and a high degree of ethics and integrity.

        • Education and Credentials
          • A bachelor's degree is required.

          • The SIE, Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and the CAIA designation are preferred.

          • Work Authorization
            • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
