Position Description

PIMCO is seeking an experienced and motivated Alternatives Marketing Manager to join our U.S. GWM Marketing team.  In this role, you will lead the execution of marketing strategy for the firm’s Interval Funds and Asset-Based Finance platform, supporting engagement with U.S. financial advisors.  The ideal candidate brings deep experience in alternative investments and advisor-facing distribution and is energized by the opportunity to help scale a strategic priority for the firm. 

A central focus of this role is maintaining and evolving PIMCO’s alternatives client segmentation and driving targeted marketing execution.  You will activate segmentation-led marketing plans across key tactics, including email, virtual and live events, and integrated campaigns.  Acting as a central point of coordination, this role partners closely with Product Strategy, Alternatives Sales, and internal marketing teams such as Content and Multimedia to ensure messaging is accurate, aligned, and executed with excellence.  This role offers meaningful opportunities for growth, with the potential for increasing strategic responsibility and influence over the direction and execution of PIMCO’s alternatives marketing.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain a clear alternatives audience segmentation framework for U.S. financial advisors, grounded in varying levels of experience and adoption, to inform content strategy, messaging complexity, tactic mix, and distribution approach, with the goal of deepening advisor engagement over time.

  • Oversee and streamline Account Manager‑facing alternatives communications, providing a cohesive view of messaging and cadence across sales channels to ensure Account Managers receive timely, relevant, and well‑sequenced content.

  • Coordinate and execute the U.S. alternatives roadshow, delivering a cohesive, themed advisor experience that brings PIMCO’s alternatives narrative to life through integrated content, education, and engagement across markets.

  • Design and execute scalable alternatives marketing and education programs tailored to the wealth channel, building advisor fluency, confidence, and long‑term engagement with PIMCO’s alternatives platform.

  • Partner closely with Alternatives Sales and leadership to support the advisor sales organization, including the development of clear, effective marketing support and education for a growing alternatives sales team.

  • Build and evolve an advisor‑friendly digital expression of PIMCO’s alternatives narrative, translating global messaging into a clear, accessible, and compelling experience tailored to U.S. wealth management audiences.

  • Serve as the U.S. GWM marketing lead for broader alternatives initiatives, ensuring alignment and coordination across firmwide and regional efforts, including advisor communications and major alternatives‑focused industry events.

  • Monitor industry and competitor marketing strategies to identify opportunities for differentiation, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services marketing, including at least 3 years focused on alternative investments marketing.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. Wealth Management and financial advisor needs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of alternative investments, including the target market’s investment needs, concerns, and decision-making process.

  • Experience marketing complex, regulated investment products.

  • Experience supporting advisor-facing distribution teams, including partnership with sales, product strategy, or client coverage organizations.

  • Proven ability to translate segmentation or audience frameworks into practical marketing execution across channels.

  • Experience activating marketing programs across email, events (virtual and live), digital platforms, and integrated campaigns.

  • Comfort operating in a high‑growth, evolving business area, balancing execution with thoughtful prioritization.

  • Familiarity with interval funds, private credit, asset-based finance, or related strategies (preferred, not required).

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 225,000.00
