  • We’re a Great Place to Work® certified company connecting talented professionals with exciting opportunities and US businesses. Here, you’ll get more than a role: you’ll gain global exposure, meaningful learning opportunities, and room to grow your career while being part of a vibrant, supportive culture.
  • We believe great work happens when people feel trusted, valued, and connected. If you’re ready to build your career with a team that takes its work seriously — without taking itself too seriously — you’ll feel right at home.
Role Overview
  • What if your engineering knowledge could uncover financial value hidden inside commercial properties?
  • As our US Cost Segregation Project Engineer, you’ll put engineering analysis, construction knowledge, and a sharp eye for detail to work on cost segregation studies for one of our US clients.
  • Think of it as part engineering, part investigation. You’ll dig into construction plans, invoices, depreciation schedules, property data, and building systems to understand what’s there, how it should be classified, and how it translates into a detailed client deliverable.
  • You’ll own projects across multiple stages — from preliminary research and virtual site reviews to asset classification, report preparation, management review, and client follow-up.
  • If you enjoy the detective work just as much as the technical work, this could be the specialist engineering career path you’ve been looking for.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project files, depreciation schedules, construction plans, and invoices.
  • Confirm project dates, cost basis, and production requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct virtual site visits.
  • Document relevant property assets and improvements.
  • Read and interpret architectural and engineering construction plans and specifications.
  • Analyze and classify building and utility-system components.
  • Prepare detailed spreadsheets and written property reports.
  • Incorporate photographs and supporting documentation into reports.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost segregation studies.
  • Respond to management review comments and update deliverables as required.
  • Resolve project issues and follow up on incomplete information.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, sales stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Manage multiple assigned projects and meet required deadlines.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum four-year engineering or technical degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned workloads.
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commercial real estate
  • Construction management
  • Building design
  • Building management/maintenance
  • Previous exposure to cost segregation studies or related property and construction analysis is advantageous.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
