Position Summary / Objective

The Transitions Tax Data Specialist serves as the primary tax specialist for customers during the first quarter of their Tax Services. This role partners with customers and internal teams to support a smooth transition to OneSource Virtual's payroll tax services by managing cases, researching payroll tax issues, coordinating resolutions, and maintaining accurate tax data.

The specialist establishes and reviews tax profile data, processes customer-requested updates, researches tax information from federal, state, and local agencies, and supports customer transition activities. The role also leads customer meetings, facilitates discussions on tax processes and requirements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support successful customer onboarding.

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary tax contact for an assigned customer portfolio during the transition period.
  • Manage customer cases, tasks, and inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Lead customer meetings and support payroll tax transition activities.
  • Review and maintain tax profiles, setups, tax rates, and related customer data.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax data, configuration, and reconciliation issues.
  • Process profile update requests and maintain accurate records across tax systems.
  • Partner with internal teams to support successful customer onboarding and transition to Tax Services.
  • Recommend process, documentation, and knowledge resource improvements.
  • Meet established quality, productivity, and customer service standards.
  • Contribute to team initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local payroll tax concepts and multi-jurisdictional requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze payroll tax data, perform reconciliations, identify variances, and support issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while producing accurate, well-documented work.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently facilitate customer meetings and discuss payroll tax processes, issues, and resolutions.
