Job Title: Training Manager  

Reports to: Associate Director of Training  

Status: Full-time; Exempt  

Salary: $75,000.00-$88,000.00 

Position Information:  

The Training Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational learning and development initiatives. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, engaging training experiences that support employee growth, program excellence, and organizational goals. The Training Manager collaborates cross-functionally with program, operations, and leadership teams to identify training needs, develop learning solutions, evaluate effectiveness, and drive a culture of continuous learning. Through strategic planning, project management, quality assurance, and data-informed decision-making, the Training Manager helps strengthen staff capacity and ensure high-quality outcomes for youth, families, and communities.  

Overall Responsibilities: 

Training Design & Development 

  • Lead the design, development, and continuous enhancement of engaging, high-quality training programs aligned with organizational goals, program needs, and adult learning best practices. 

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Training and Associate Director of Programs to ensure training initiatives support organizational priorities and strategic objectives. 

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and maintenance of training curricula, workshops, academies, professional development pathways, and train-the-trainer programs. 

  • Ensure all training content reflects current best practices in experiential learning, youth development, facilitation, and instructional design. 

  • Maintain consistency in training quality, structure, and learner experience across all learning initiatives. 

Training Delivery & Execution 

  • Oversee and support the successful facilitation of training programs across the organization to ensure consistent, engaging, and high-quality learning experiences. 

  • Facilitate trainings, workshops, and professional development sessions in both virtual and in-person environments as needed. 

  • Coordinate all aspects of training logistics, including scheduling, communication, materials preparation, venue coordination, and participant support. 

  • Ensure administrative processes and operational systems are effectively managed to support seamless training execution. 

  • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and learner-centered environment that promotes participation and skill development. 

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Ensure all training programs align with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) standards and organizational learning objectives. 

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for training design, content review, and facilitation practices. 

  • Utilize established training review and vetting tools to ensure content meets organizational standards for quality, relevance, and effectiveness. 

  • Ensure training materials consistently reflect organizational branding, voice, and messaging. 

  • Identify opportunities to enhance training systems, processes, and participant experiences through ongoing evaluation and innovation. 

Data & Evaluation 

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret training data, including participant feedback, assessments, engagement metrics, and performance outcomes. 

  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps, emerging trends, and professional development priorities. 

  • Utilize data and evaluation findings to inform training improvements and support organizational decision-making. 

  • Develop and provide regular reports, recommendations, and updates to the Associate Director of Training. 

  • Partner with the Impact team to identify data-informed training opportunities, trends, and continuous improvement strategies. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with program leaders, department teams, and organizational stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop responsive training solutions. 

  • Align training initiatives with operational, programmatic, and strategic priorities across the organization. 

  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships to ensure training remains relevant, practical, and impactful. 

  • Coordinate with Program teams to schedule and conduct site visits that support training evaluation, coaching, and continuous improvement efforts. 

Operations & Project Management 

  • Manage multiple training projects and initiatives simultaneously while ensuring timely completion and high-quality outcomes. 

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale training events, conferences, and organizational learning initiatives. 

  • Maintain organized systems for tracking training schedules, participant engagement, materials, outcomes, and project progress. 

  • Utilize the organization's Learning Management System (LMS) to manage training records, participation, compliance, and learning engagement. 

  • Ensure timely follow-up on training requests through effective documentation, communication, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. 

Culture & Organizational Alignment 

  • Model organizational values through effective leadership, collaboration, communication, and professional conduct. 

  • Champion a culture of learning, continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth. 

  • Support staff development by coaching facilitators, providing feedback, and promoting training excellence. 

  • Promote a "Kids First" philosophy by ensuring all training initiatives contribute to safe, engaging, and high-quality experiences for youth. 

  • Serve as a learning and development leader who advances organizational capacity, employee success, and program quality. 

Requirements:  

  • Knowledge of experiential learning theory and adult learning principles. 

  • Strong understanding of youth development, expanded learning programs, and education systems, particularly in high-need communities. 

  • Experience in training design, facilitation, and program implementation. 

  • Commitment to data-driven decision-making, evaluation, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). 

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to build strong relationships across teams and departments. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. 

  • Proficiency in digital tools (Canva, Microsoft Teams, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, Forms, Planner, PPTX). 

  • Stable internet access. 

  • Valid LIVE Scan
