In this role, you'll join a collaborative team supporting caregivers through onboarding, orientation, ongoing training, and skills development while helping ensure training requirements are completed accurately and on time.

WE OFFER: 

  • Compensation: $23.50 hourly fixed rate.
  • Work Environment: On-site in Long Beach, CA.

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM – 5 PM & Tuesday - Saturday 8 AM - 5 pm.
  • Travel: Approximately 25% travel for community outreach and training-related activities.

  • Mileage Reimbursement: Mileage is reimbursed for required business travel.

 

Job Description

As a Training Coordinator, you will play a key role in preparing new and existing care providers to successfully support the individuals served by Cambrian. You'll coordinate and deliver orientations and ongoing training, ensure required documentation is complete, track training compliance, assess caregiver skills, and maintain accurate training records.

This is a people-focused role requiring strong presentation skills, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to adjust your training approach based on how people learn. You'll work closely with candidates, caregivers, HR, the Quality Department, and community partners to ensure training and onboarding are completed accurately and effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Orientation & Training Delivery: Coordinate and deliver orientations and ongoing training sessions for new and existing care providers, using company-approved materials and adapting presentation styles to support different learning needs.
  • Training Compliance & Documentation: Track and report caregiver training compliance, ensure orientation documentation is complete and accurate according to company and regulatory requirements, and maintain timely training records.
  • Skills Competency & Caregiver Development: Assess and ensure new care provider skill competency in both in-home and skills-lab settings, provide skills training as requested, and support training initiatives that promote successful outcomes.
  • Candidate & Caregiver Support: Prepare for incoming candidates, review pending HR documentation, greet candidates, collect required legal documents, answer questions, support online diversity training, and provide prompt, professional, and friendly service to care providers.
  • Hiring & Data Entry Support: Complete accurate and timely data entry for newly hired care providers in company systems, including entering required information into Matrix and ensuring onboarding documentation is completed correctly and in the appropriate order.
  • Community & Referral Collaboration: Build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, workforce development agencies, and referral sources; attend community and referral-source meetings and assist in identifying training needs through caregiver and community interactions.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to confidently speak to groups and deliver engaging, effective training sessions.
  • Training Ability: Ability to deliver engaging and effective training sessions and adjust presentation style based on different learning needs.
  • Technology & Data Entry: Comfort working with company software and completing accurate data entry; experience with Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar systems is beneficial.
  • Professionalism & Confidentiality: Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, respectfulness, kindness toward candidates, confidentiality, and an understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Driver's License & Transportation: Ability to travel within the assigned service area and, when driving is required for company business, possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and meet applicable company requirements.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds.   

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Training Experience: Previous experience conducting training, orientations, presentations, or employee development is preferred.
  • Healthcare or Home Care Experience: Experience in home care, healthcare training, or a related service environment.
  • Developmental Disabilities or Senior Services: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or the senior population.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time.

  • Adaptability & Coachability: Learns new systems and training materials quickly, accepts feedback, and adapts to changing priorities and different training needs.
