What You’ll Do

The Traffic Clerk is responsible for providing accurate documentation for inbound and outbound shipments, analyzing transportation carriers, and proposing cost-saving improvements. The transportation clerk will interact daily with warehouse personnel to coordinate the shipping appointment schedules, receiving inbound container activity and verify orders for accuracy and compliance within the customers routing guide and Munchkin SOP requirements.

How you will contribute:

  • Determine appropriate method of shipping
  • Create shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels, packing lists, waybills and various other transportation documentation used for outbound shipments
  • Creates inbound receipt paperwork for the unloading of sea containers-imported goods
  • Research and analyze LTL /TL carriers best freight rates
  • Utilize customer on-line web portals for prepaid and collect shipments
  • Schedule load pickups with various carriers, and follow through to accurate loading and timely pickups
  • Accurately key, input load information and transactions all of which are considered legal documents
  • Check in drivers arriving for scheduled pickups or deliveries
  • Assign drivers to doors to be loaded and unloaded
  • Utilize system to Ship and confirm all outbound orders
  • Utilize system to reconcile open PO’s for inbound import sea containers
  • File, scan and save all original shipping documents
  • Records CHEP pallets on the CHEP website
  • Analyze shipping activities and propose cost savings improvements
  • Participate, collaborate and support Transportation Supervisor with special operations projects
  • Other duties may be assigned

You will have:

  • Minimum 3 years clerical logistics, shipping, or receiving experience in a retail distribution warehouse and CPG experience preferred, or a degree in supply chain management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with an automated warehouse management system and Oracle experience preferred
  • Knowledge of transportation principles and regulations preferred
  • Experience with vendor TMS/appointment scheduling is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Great communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills

Salary range: $20 - $21 per hour (DOE)
