Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a “Technical Project Manager - Gen AI”. 

Location: South San Francisco, CA
Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)
Rate: $100 - $110/hr on W2

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to coordinate delivery across engineering teams and external technology partners supporting GenAI applications. This role will organize technical initiatives, maintain documentation, track dependencies and risks, and ensure clear visibility into status, ownership, and decisions.

The ideal candidate is organized, technically fluent, and comfortable working across engineering, product, data/AI, platform, security, and vendor teams. You will translate approved requirements into Jira work, maintain Confluence documentation, and support consistent delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items across technical workstreams.
  • Partner with the Director, Technical Program Managers, engineering leads, and vendors to track priorities, ownership, blockers, and follow-ups.
  • Create and maintain Jira epics, stories, subtasks, and testable acceptance criteria from approved requirements.
  • Maintain Confluence documentation for technical solutions, workflows, architecture decisions, interfaces, dependencies, and processes.
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, UAT, release readiness, and acceptance tracking.
  • Provide clear delivery updates and escalate risks, gaps, and blockers to the appropriate technical or business lead.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, Technical Program Management, Software Delivery, Business Systems Analysis, or a related role.
  • Experience coordinating software delivery across engineering teams, technical stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence, including backlog management, documentation, dashboards, and requirements traceability.
  • Ability to understand and document software architecture, APIs, data flows, cloud services, testing, CI/CD, and Agile delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities across distributed teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Generative AI, AI/ML, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or enterprise AI applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with microservices, distributed systems, APIs, system integrations, or data platforms.
  • Experience working with external technology vendors or implementation partners.
