The Technical Product Manager combines market focused and development-centric activities to define, build and launch successful software products. Primary responsibilities include market analysis, product strategy, product planning, product release & launch, and marketing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Market Analysis
    • Technical Trend Analysis: Monitor technology market for paradigm shifts in technology development, usage and investment
    • Competitive Landscape: Develop hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitive products and maintain technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses
  • Product Strategy
    • Market Research: Conduct market interviews and surveys to identify unmet needs across various market segments
    • Technology Asset Assessment: Analyze technology assets to determine most effective path forward to deliver a complete solution (buy, build or partner)
  • Product Planning
    • Use Scenarios: Define the most typical user of your product or service and translate identified market problems into user-friendly stories to guide solution development
    • Product Roadmaps: Define and manage product roadmaps
    • Requirements: Leverage product themes to package multiple features into distinct and compelling releases
    • Development Oversight: Drive product development toward on time and high-quality completion
  • Product Release & Launch
    • Early Stage Install Support: Lead and support beta testing and installation of new products and features to early customers. Document and report problems and recommend solutions/improvements to team
    • Channel Training: Train Sales and Partners on product use cases and capabilities
  • Subject Matter Expert
    • Content Planning: Provide needed market and solution information to support Marketing, Sales and Technical Support
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of software development and/or product management experience for an enterprise software company
  • Strong problem-solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively and productively interface with customers
  • Must have experience with cross-functional teams that include engineering, product, sales and marketing staff
  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with executive management
  • BA/BS (degree in technical field preferred)

Email Security Expertise

  • Proficient in common email and email security protocols - SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF, DNS, encryption, DLP.
  • Experience implementing one or more email gateway solutions.
  • Experience administering an M365 email environment.
  • Proficient in MS Graph and Powershell.
  • One or more scripting/programming languages.

This role is eligible for commission as defined under the terms of the applicable plan.  At Fortra, our compensation philosophy prioritizes fair market value and internal equity, aligning with your experience and specialized skill set.

$95,000$140,000 USD
