Responsibilities include architectural discovery, distributed systems design, scalability and performance analysis, Azure and hybrid infrastructure assessments, technical debt evaluation, codebase analysis, executive reporting, modernization roadmaps, architecture diagramming, and infrastructure automation. The role also manages stakeholders, mentors technical staff, facilitates discovery sessions, and presents recommendations to senior executives.
Allata is a global consulting and technology services firm founded in 2016, with 350+ employees across the US, India, and Argentina. We partner with some of the world's largest enterprises to move AI from idea to production — building intelligent agents, data foundations, and governance frameworks that scale.
Our teams work at the intersection of strategy, engineering, data, and design, helping clients modernize their technology, unlock data value, and create meaningful digital experiences. At Allata, you'll join an agile, cross-functional team that works closely alongside clients — making a real impact and building lasting partnerships.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Consulting Manager & Lead Solutions Architect to lead consulting engagements and partner with client stakeholders to evaluate, design, and modernize complex software and infrastructure architectures. In this role, you will wear two key hats: acting as the Engagement & Technical Lead driving small, high-performing consulting teams to successfully deliver milestones on time, while simultaneously serving as a trusted technical advisor to client leadership and engineering teams. You will lead architectural discoveries, scalability and technical debt evaluations, infrastructure assessments on Azure and hybrid environments, and synthesize actionable modernization roadmaps.
Hard Skills:
- Technical Delivery & Team Leadership: Proven experience leading technical workstreams and small consulting teams (analysts, engineers, specialists); assigning tasks, reviewing work output, synthesizing disparate findings into unified deliverables, and keeping engagements on scope and on schedule.
- Architecture & System Design: Deep experience evaluating and designing distributed software architectures, high-throughput telemetry/data pipelines, microservices, API gateways, and message-driven systems.
- Scalability & Performance Analysis: Proven ability to identify architectural and infrastructure bottlenecks (CPU, memory, I/O, database concurrency, network) and evaluate readiness for exponential growth (horizontal vs. vertical scaling).
- Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure: Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (App Gateways, VNet topology, load balancers, compute, security) and on-premises / colocation virtualization platforms (Linux, Proxmox, VMware, KVM).
- Codebase & Technical Debt Evaluation: Ability to guide the team in analyzing multi-stack codebases and system topologies to uncover architectural couplings, fragile integration points, and structural risks.
- Deliverable Synthesis & Diagramming: Track record of authoring executive-level technical reports, prioritized modernization roadmaps, and industry-standard architecture/topology diagrams (C4 model, Visio, Lucidchart).
- IaC & Automation Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates), containerization (Docker), and modern CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Nice to have:
- Microsoft Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert AZ-305, Azure Administrator AZ-104).
- Prior experience within professional services or technology consulting firms.
- Experience with high-volume telemetry ingestion, event streaming, or cybersecurity/SOC platforms (SIEM, SOAR, alert correlation engines).
- Familiarity with cloud migration roadmapping (on-prem/colo to Azure cloud) and high-level AI-readiness architectures.
Soft Skills / Business Specific Skills:
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and spoken English; experienced in facilitating SME discovery sessions, navigating client dynamics, managing executive expectations, and delivering polished final readouts to C-level stakeholders.
- Team Enablement & Mentorship: Strong ability to provide direction, mentor technical analysts/engineers, unblock challenges, and ensure deliverable quality control.
- Strategic Prioritization & Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex engineering risks into clear business impacts, helping clients prioritize near-term remediation vs. long-term investments.
- Ownership & Drive: Highly organized, proactive, and resilient in navigating ambiguity and tight, time-boxed project schedules.
