Job Description

In this Career Advisor role, you will be an integral part of the Operational team, responsible for advising, monitoring, and tracking customer participation. This position counsels and assists customers with job search strategies, personal career advisement, and training needs. You will also help customers identify and work with barriers to employment. In this role, you will need to maintain accurate and complete records and ensure smooth transition of cases across services and programs. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with customers, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly with a plan of action. This role requires that you critique resumes and maintain an understanding of a vast array of occupations/careers for effective placement of customers. You will also need to demonstrate strategies for re-engaging customers after training completion, show effective use of the standards of the Case Management Model, and the policies and procedures for Career Advisement.

In this role you will:
• Ensure that highest quality, individualized services are delivered to the customer
• Ensure protection and confidentiality of participants’ rights
• Successfully document customer success stories internally and externally

Qualifications

You are a self-motivated and flexible team player. You consider yourself to have strong computer, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. You’re creative and goal-oriented, work well under pressure, and are comfortable meeting multiple deadlines. You take pride in your ability to relate to and motivate individuals, especially those facing barriers to employment. You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field and/or 2+ years of working in a career counseling role and are ready to make an impact.
