Intellisense Systems, Inc. is a privately held company with a proven track record of developing and deploying innovative products that successfully operate in the most extreme environments.  We are a fast-growing Southern California technology innovator that solves tough, mission-critical challenges for our customers in the aerospace, defense, and commercial markets.  We design, develop, and manufacture advanced products for ground, maritime, and airborne applications.
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Talent Acquisition & HR Coordinator to join our dynamic team.  This is a unique dual-function role designed for a candidate looking to launch a career in both recruiting and human resources.  You will be a "full-cycle" contributor: sourcing your own candidates, managing agency partnerships, and identifying administrative bottlenecks within our HR department.  If you are a natural "fixer" who loves people and processes, this is the perfect place to grow.

This critical, hands-on role is based in Torrance, CA, and is not a hybrid or remote position.  We offer a fast-paced, high impact and stimulating work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.  Veterans welcome!

Talent Acquisition Support

  • Administer the recruiting process, including writing job descriptions, posting positions, and coordinating external recruitment efforts,
  • Conduct initial resume screening and perform "first-touch" phone screens.
  • Utilize LinkedIn and other databases to proactively find "passive" talent, building a pipeline of candidates outside of agency submissions.
  • Serve as administrator for our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).  You will be responsible for opening/closing requisitions, troubleshooting user issues, and ensuring all candidate data is correctly dispositioned for compliance.
  • Be point of contact for external staffing agencies; schedule intake calls, distribute job descriptions, and track candidate submissions.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end interview loop, including scheduling technical screens and on-site interviews for both agency and direct-hire candidates.
  • Ensure every applicant has a seamless experience, from initial outreach to the first day of onboarding.
  • Oversee Affirmative Action requirements and reports filings.
  • Research and introduce AI-driven platforms and a variety of active and passive channels to identify and engage top-tier talent.
  • Track and report on key recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, pipeline conversion rates, etc.) to drive continuous improvement.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

  • Review current HR workflows (onboarding, record-keeping, data entry) to identify inefficiencies and suggest modern, efficient solutions.
  • Maintain the accuracy of our HRIS and applicant tracking systems, ensuring compliance with government contracting requirements.
  • Support benefits and leave administration, as needed.
  • Assist with special projects, such as updating employee handbooks, coordinating company events, and implementing new HR software modules.
  • Job responsibilities within our organization are dynamic.  This may not be a complete list of duties.  Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned by your supervisor or upper management at any time.

Education, Experience, & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in Talent Acquisition and HR.

Skills, Abilities, & Attributes:

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple moving parts without dropping the ball.
  • Professional presence with the ability to build rapport with agency partners and internal hiring managers.
  • A "continuous improvement" mentality.
  • Proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while adapting to changing business needs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment, working extended hours (as needed).
  • Strong self-motivation and attitude for personal career growth, willingness to self-learn, and work in new technology domains
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

What You Can Expect:

  • The ability to innovate, develop, and transition prototype technologies into new products, and to be rewarded for successful transitions.
  • The chance to continually work on new differentiating technologies and implement simple elegant solutions to meet customer needs and that make an impact.
  • Leadership that enables its engineers with all the tools they need to be successful.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
