Our team uses modern MBSE practices to translate mission needs into precise, traceable, and verifiable technical requirements across a complex, multi‑system environment.

As a Systems Engineer, you will support the technical planning, development, and integration of mission‑planning and systems‑engineering artifacts that advance program goals and operational outcomes. You will help shape requirements, architectures, interface definitions, and engineering products that ensure system capabilities are aligned, traceable, and technically sound across the broader system landscape. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to disciplined engineering processes, and ensure solutions remain consistent with program objectives and stakeholder priorities.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide feedback and refinement for mission‑level specifications in coordination with the system integrator and engineering teams.

  • Define component‑level requirements derived from operational needs, system behaviors, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Lead or support generation and implementation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Contribute to the creation of requirement‑verification artifacts for mission‑planning and component specifications.
  • Work with data, AI/ML, software, and systems‑engineering teams to integrate required data sources, model inputs, outputs, assumptions, and validation methods.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, integration challenges, sequencing concerns, and capability gaps across system‑engineering activities.
  • Ensure systems‑engineering efforts remain aligned with program objectives, MBSE practices, CTO advanced analytics initiatives, and stakeholder needs.
  • Support engineering activities related to ground systems and Agile‑based development workflows.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 10+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 8+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 6+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field; OR a Ph.D. and 3+ years of experience. Additional four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance
  • Experience contributing to systems‑engineering activities such as requirements development, architecture definition, interface analysis, or verification support.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and interpreting Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and supporting interface integration across system components.
  • Proven ability to analyze system behaviors, data dependencies, and integration needs in support of mission‑planning and component‑level design.
  • Experience collaborating with software, data, AI/ML, MBSE, and test teams to support integration of technical inputs, outputs, assumptions, and validation methods.
  • Ability to identify and communicate technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges within multi‑component system environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools or practices.
  • Experience working in multi‑contractor or third‑party integration and test environments.
  • Experience supporting Agile development workflows.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
