Raytheon’s Commodity Supplier Assurance team has an opportunity for a Supplier Engineer based in California, who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier’s technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.

The Senior Supplier Engineer will join our Electronics CCA group. Primary focus will be on CCA Manufacturers. In total, they will support any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components and RF.  (Experience in one of these commodities is desired, but not required.)

This position is remote and based out of following locations: Fullerton, CA, El Segundo, CA, Riverside, CA and San Diego, CA, to audit/visit suppliers in the vicinity.  Relocation assistance is not provided.

What You Will Do:

• Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
• Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
• Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
• Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
• Manage non-conforming products
• Drive root cause and corrective action
• Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with and mentor teammates
• Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
• Support domestic travel as needed (Approx 25%)

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, as described below
• Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing & quality systems or technical supplier management
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred
• Active DoD clearance
• Experience with any of the following commodities: CCA/PWB/Flex, Antenna/Power/Networks, Cables/Harnesses/Integrated Assy/Electronic Components, RF, or Optics.
• Experience performing supplier assessments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
