At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

The Strategic Growth team is central to our growth efforts, focused on identifying and engaging real estate professionals who align with our mission. As a Strategic Growth Associate (SGA), you will play a foundational role in our growth, helping to navigate a dynamic industry with significant opportunity. Unlike roles requiring a focus on market fit, you will serve as a market-facing growth professional responsible for territory strategy, business discovery, competitive intelligence, and pipeline development. This role combines consultative outreach with strategic market analysis to support long-term business growth.

We are seeking individuals with strong business acumen and professional discipline to join our organization. You will interact with real estate agents across various geographies, conducting discovery to understand their business challenges and contribute to territory strategy. This is a role with high visibility, where success is measured through consistent performance against established metrics. We provide a structured environment with dedicated coaching and development; in return, we look for individuals who demonstrate accountability, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Based in our Beverly Hills office, this onsite role offers the opportunity to work alongside local teams and gain hands-on experience supporting the market.

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Own Top-of-Funnel Pipeline: Drive net-new pipeline through a strategic mix of inbound support and targeted outbound campaigns.
  • Consultative Discovery: Conduct structured qualification calls to understand agent production, growth pain points, and business timelines.
  • Territory Strategy: Lead day-to-day prospecting strategy for the territory; build multi-layered initiatives and execute micro-campaigns to drive market penetration.
  • Market Intelligence: Serve as the pod’s insight engine by documenting competitive intel, objection trends, and market sentiment to keep the CRM a powerful sales tool.
  • Value-Driven Engagement: Articulate our value proposition through personalized, high-value communication; move fast and obsess about the opportunity
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with SGMs and Enablement to pilot new talk tracks, participate in role-plays, and refine the sales process.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of relevant experience with history of strong performance (SDR, Direct Sales)
  • Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills, glass-half-full mentality, with demonstrated leadership potential
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Highly motivated and persistent; energized by high-volume outreach and motivated by pushback, maintaining enthusiasm, professionalism, and momentum in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively lead client meetings and presentations
  • Highly organized; ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Track record of excellence across strategic, operational, and detail-demanding functional responsibilities

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
