Caldera Medical’s Mission - To Improve the Quality of Life for Women!

The Opportunity

Caldera Medical is looking for a Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to own the end-to-end Accounts Payable function while supporting month-end close and general accounting activities. This role ensures accurate and timely AP processing, strong internal controls, and reliable financial reporting, and serves as the primary point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders on AP matters. It's a great fit for someone who takes pride in precision, thrives on recurring deadlines, and wants to help strengthen the financial backbone of a growing medical device company.

What You'll Do

• Own daily AP processing, including invoice entry, coding review, three-way matching, and payment runs

• Handle vendor communications and resolve payment, invoice, and statement reconciliation issues

• Maintain vendor master data and perform required independent verification of new or changed banking information

• Manage PO matching and partner with Operations and Procurement to resolve exceptions

• Prepare and distribute the weekly AP Aging Register and follow up on aged or unresolved items

• Support month-end close, including AP cutoff, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and close schedules

• Prepare assigned balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items

• Maintain AP procedures, follow and reinforce internal controls, and identify process improvements

• Support audits, compliance requests, and other Finance projects as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of full-cycle Accounts Payable

• Experience supporting month-end close, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations

• ERP system experience (Oracle Fusion strongly preferred)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Experience managing AP aging, vendor issues, and high transaction volume across multiple entities

• Strong hands-on full-cycle AP experience with a sound understanding of AP controls

• Working knowledge of accrual accounting, journal entries, and balance-sheet reconciliations

• Solid understanding of PO processes, three-way matching, vendor master controls, and payment controls

• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and follow-through skills, with a mindset geared toward improving processes rather than only maintaining them

Why This Role Matters

Accurate, well-controlled AP operations are foundational to Caldera Medical's financial integrity and to the trust vendors and internal teams place in Finance. As Caldera continues to scale across its U.S. and international operations, this role plays a direct part in strengthening the controls, reporting discipline, and vendor relationships that support the company's broader mission of bringing innovative pelvic health solutions to market.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
