Role Overview: EKN Engineering is a fast-growing B2B engineering and technology consulting company that provides innovative engineering solutions. We are seeking a Sr. UI/UX Designer for our Technology and Development team. This group is responsible for building and maintaining our new B2B SaaS workflow platform as well as supporting custom B2B software solutions. The Sr. UI/UX Designer should be a hands-on leader and be able to think/operate strategically while executing effectively across multiple projects within and across the department. They must be highly engaged, proactive, extremely detail-oriented, and a collaborator with exceptional digital product/design, execution and project management skills.


Key Responsibilities.

  • Help develop, execute and manage the end-to-end design strategy and roadmap,
  • Lead full-scale UX design efforts including: user research, workflow blueprinting, and regular revaluation of existing systems
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that will be utilized by development teams, internal documentation and external marketing
  • Work cross-functionally with the Product, Software Development, Project, and Business Operations teams.
  • Manage and maintain all assets, style guides and Figma files for all parts of the design, prototyping and development process
  • Drive and operate in an agile, nimble manner with a sense of urgency; move with “enough” data/insights
  • Foster a change/adaptive mindset culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze and communicate research insights, design strategy, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Partner internally to resolve issues that arise throughout the implementation of new features and products.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and user-focused development; empower the design team by mentoring, upleveling and advocating for them and cultivating a culture of collaboration.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer as well as a portfolio of successful projects
  • Expert in Figma and other prototyping tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in building, inspiring and leading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large projects and programs in complex environments, against challenging timelines within a complex/regulated environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
  • Results-oriented problem solver with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and overall excellence.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities to evaluate opportunities and challenges and uncover new design patterns to improve user experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to work and deliver multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines
  • Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, understanding products in detail while maintaining a broader vision
  • Strong understanding of the life cycle process of software development (discovery, planning, design, user testing, development, deployment and feedback)
  • Self-starter, motivated, confident and has the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
