Job Description

The Senior User Interface / User Experience Designer work across multiple product surfaces—from resident mobile app to internal operational tools—delivering intuitive, effective designs that improve user experience without unnecessary delay.
The incumbent is a seasoned designer who thrives on autonomy, collaborates well across functions, and elevates the work of those around them. The designer contributes to product direction, helps shape design standards, and offers mentorship and feedback to peers—all while staying deeply hands-on. They are expected to make confident design decisions quickly, and when deeper exploration is needed, know how to efficiently mobilize research or testing to validate the approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein.  Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Lead design work for the resident mobile app and five other major platforms: resident mobile app, prospect/resident web portal, vendor and technician work order tools, rental management system and CRM and property acquisition management system.

  • Deliver clean, user-centered designs that balance speed and quality

  • Collaborate with PMs and engineers to turn ideas into shipped features

  • Partner with product and engineering early in the discovery phase to shape problem framing and explore solution space

  • Make sound, informed design decisions without needing deep research for every scenario

  • When appropriate, quickly scope and lead user research or usability testing to validate ideas

  • Quickly assess design needs and deliver solutions without over-reliance on formal process or lengthy cycles

  • Communicate design rationale effectively to a range of stakeholders, including non-designers

  • Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints in decision-making

  • Contribute to the evolution of our design system to maintain consistency and accessibility

  • Help ensure a high standard of accessibility, usability, and design consistency across products

  • Work iteratively sharing work early and often, and adjusting based on feedback or testing

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting changes to process, tools, or team rituals

  • Offer informal mentorship and guidance to designers and cross-functional peers

  • Bring your experience to design critiques, working sessions, and strategy discussions

Qualifications:

  • Strong portfolio showing deep UX thinking and polished interface design

  • Experience with both B2C apps and internal tools or enterprise software

  • Proficient with modern design and prototyping tools like Figma

  • Fast, decisive, and comfortable working in high-tempo environments

  • Clear communicator who can articulate design trade-offs and user needs

  • Skilled at planning and executing lightweight user research and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on complex design initiatives across multiple platforms

  • Experience in both B2C and B2B or internal-facing tools

  • Strong portfolio that showcases end-to-end design thinking and high craft

  • Track record of scaling or evolving design systems 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in UI/UX/product design

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$97,340.00 - $162,240.00
