About the Team

The Technology Development Team is responsible for development advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance the industrial base. Our solutions range from novel welding processes, advanced robotics, and advanced simulation and prediction  capabilities. We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to manage our growing portfolio of commercial and government programs at the intersection of hardware and software utilizing our Stargate Platform. 

About the Role

  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure all projects are aligned with program requirements and execute required milestones through program completion. Participate in the solicitation, scope development, and proposal process.
  • Project Execution: Through demonstrated project management skills, you will bridge the gap between customer programs, weld engineering, material science, production, post-processing, and supply chain functions to coordinate initiatives, define and verify requirements, and push progress across an array of technical challenges spanning development, prototyping, and production efforts. Where others often add complexity, your primary role is to simplify design, analysis, strategy, requirements and assumptions, system architectures, supply chain and sourcing.
  • Stakeholder management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction with project progress.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and high performance.
  • Requirements Management: Establish, translate, trace, and verify requirements in accordance with internal and external program needs
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to regulations, guidelines, security requirements. Implement necessary compliance measures.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related programs and contracts, and work proactively to mitigate them.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage and optimize project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets to meet project objectives and contractual obligations.

About You

  • Bachelors degree in relevant STEM field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics)
  • 5+ years experience in managing technical hardware projects with internal and external facing customers
  • Substantial program management experience working on or leading fast-paced, collaborative teams including managing project dashboards, scoping, structuring, creating, and reviewing deliverables)
  • Strong knowledge of government contract mechanisms, regulations, compliance, export, and security requirements
  • Exposure to metallic materials selection criteria, and experience in evaluating candidate materials for challenging applications
  • Excellent command of metallurgical non-destructive evaluation, testing and characterization methods including design of experiments and robust understanding of statistical methods
  • Experience with MES, ERP systems and working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing related to engineering drawing interpretation and review
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, JIRA)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice to have but not required:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in relevant STEM field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics)
  • TS/SCI Clearance 
  • 3+ years experience development welding or additive manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in metallurgy, material science, non-destructive evaluation methods
  • Engineering experience in an Aerospace, Energy, or Maritime Industry
