The Sr Strategic Account Executive applies broad and deep expertise in financial services and enterprise SaaS sales to drive highly complex, high-impact new logo acquisition across priority banking and credit union segments. This role operates with significant autonomy, leading large, strategic opportunities that require conceptual thinking, evaluation of intangible factors, and alignment to long-term business objectives. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert, the Sr Strategic Account Executive shapes segment strategy, influences company objectives, and drives revenue outcomes that materially impact the overall function. This role regularly engages executive leadership internally and externally to guide approach, messaging, and competitive positioning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

● Lead and close highly strategic, enterprise-level new logo opportunities that significantly impact functional revenue objectives 

● Design and execute multi-year account and territory strategies aligned to broader company growth priorities 

● Engage C-suite and board-level stakeholders in strategic dialogue focused on long-term transformation and measurable business outcomes 

● Navigate highly complex sales cycles involving regulatory, technical, operational, and financial evaluation criteria 

● Develop innovative deal structures and commercial frameworks that address complex client requirements while protecting company interests 

● Create formal engagement networks across internal departments to coordinate executive alignment, solution strategy, and competitive response 

● Exercise independent judgment in evaluating ambiguous or unprecedented deal scenarios with material revenue implications 

● Influence segment-level go-to-market strategy by contributing insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, and client buying behavior 

● Partner with senior leadership to refine messaging and value propositions for enterprise financial institutions 

● Drive forecast accuracy and pipeline strategy with accountability for outcomes that may impact the broader sales organization 

● Represent the company as a senior sales leader at executive forums, industry associations, and strategic client engagements 

● Mentor and inform other sales professionals on complex deal strategy, executive engagement, and negotiation tactics 

● Identify and pursue expansion pathways within large prospective institutions to maximize long-term account value 

● Collaborate with Product and executive stakeholders to guide development of new ideas, offerings, or positioning based on enterprise market needs 

● Consistently achieve or exceed quota targets tied to the organization’s most strategic and high-value opportunities 

 

Recommended Experience & Education 

Minimum Years of Experience 

10–15 years of experience selling complex, enterprise SaaS or fintech solutions to banks, credit unions, or large financial institutions, with a sustained record of closing multi-million-dollar, multi-stakeholder strategic deals. 

Education Level Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience 

Required 

 ● Demonstrated expertise closing large, enterprise-level financial institution deals   

● Proven ability to influence executive and board-level stakeholders 

● Advanced strategic account planning and territory design skills 

● Ability to evaluate and structure complex commercial agreements independently

● Ability to perform platform demonstrations as needed 

● Deep understanding of banking industry trends, regulatory environments, and competitive landscape 

● Track record of exceeding quota in highly complex sales environments 

● Strong executive communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills 

● High proficiency in CRM analytics and revenue forecasting methodologies

● Ability to travel as needed to support territory development    

Preferred 

 ● Experience selling digital banking platforms, core systems, payments, deposit platforms or related fintech solutions  

● Experience contributing to company-level go-to-market or segment strategy discussions

● Established executive network within large banks or credit unions 

● Experience guiding or mentoring senior sales professionals on complex opportunities

● Familiarity with enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDICC and Challenger

● Experience partnering with Product leadership to influence roadmap priorities   

The salary range for this position is: $140,000 - $175,000 + CommissionsCool Things to Know
