The Role

 

System1 is seeking a self-motivated dynamic individual to serve as the Sr. Manager/Director Financial Reporting. In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for external financial reporting, including internal and external reporting. Strong GAAP experience is a must. You will manage external auditor’s review of the SEC filings and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits of financial documents as well as other accounting duties.

 

As part of our accounting team, this position will play a critical role in System1’s operations department. You will be working alongside our exceptional accounting team.

The Role You Will Have:

  • Prepare financial statements and disclosures for external financial reporting, including 10Q/Ks, 8K’s and earnings releases
  • Manage external auditor’s review of the SEC filings and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits of financial documents
  • Additional responsibilities include the support of cross functional teams on required compliance reporting, earnings press release, special projects, SOX, and supporting external audits
  • Establish active and effective communication with senior members of the Finance team and with the executive team regarding critical initiatives; ensure that SEC filings reflect those initiatives
  • Evaluate and implement new technical accounting standards
  • This position will be responsible for technical accounting research, memos and implementation of new accounting guidance and unusual transactions
  • Collaborate with other members of finance in providing accounting guidance on complex and unusual transactions
  • Review of fluxes
  • Guide subsidiary and statutory financial reporting, including investor reporting packages
  • Assist with monthly tie-out of the reporting package
  • Complete disclosure checklists to ensure all disclosure requirements are met; research disclosure requirements and keep abreast of new pronouncements impacting disclosures; establish repository of peer company disclosures and practices
  • Collaborate with legal and strategic finance on external stakeholder financial communications
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls as it pertains to financial reporting
  • Assist in various ongoing and ad-hoc projects or initiatives as needed

What You Will Bring:

  • 6+ years of combined work experience in external audit or corporate accounting
  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
  • Big 4 experience/large national accounting experience required
  • Strong technical accounting skills •
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Oracle experience a plus
  • CPA required
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to multi-task, and be a team player
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Analytic ability to identify problems and arrive at practical solutions
  • Advanced Excel skill

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $223,100 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.


System1’s headquarters is located in Marina del Rey, CA with additional offices in Bellevue, WA and Guelph, ON, Canada. Employees near office locations are returning to the office. Location-specific policies and available accommodations will be discussed during the interview process.
