About the Role:The Senior Financial Accounting Analyst is a skilled and proficient accounting professional who supports Disney Entertainment (DE) by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial accounting for Disney+ content operations. This role applies accounting expertise in the areas of streaming content costs and intercompany licensing, while partnering closely with DTC finance, production accounting, Business Affairs, and Legal to ensure the integrity of the Disney+ P&L and Balance Sheet.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as the end-to-end content accountant for Disney+, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all content-related costs and license fees. You will work independently to manage complex accounting activities across multiple cross-functional partners, drive issue resolution, and deliver clear financial analysis to leadership.
- Support Disney+ content accounting activities and partner with DTC finance, production accounting, and business partners to research and resolve content accounting matters
- Partner with DTC finance, sales administration, and content valuation teams to record fair market value license fees for all internal content licensed to Disney+
- Act as primary cost accountant for Disney+, ensuring amortization, participation, and residual expenses are properly allocated to each business
- Partner with DTC finance and production accounting teams to ensure proper estimated final costs (EFCs) for originally produced content are transferred to the Disney+ Balance Sheet, and record the downstream amortization expense
- Account for Canadian DTC originals end-to-end, including partnering with DTC Finance, Business Affairs, and Legal from contract inception through payment, capitalization, and amortization
- Manage all intercompany eliminations related to Disney+ content accounting
- Prepare and present Disney+ P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, including variance analysis and key account reconciliations
- Maintain in-depth working knowledge of the Media Morph system, overseeing creation and interfacing of all Disney+ transactions to SAP
- Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects and requests from Finance or management
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and US GAAP as applied to content cost accounting and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex accounting issues, investigate variances, and support timely resolution across multiple stakeholder groups
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to prepare, analyze, and present financial data clearly and accurately
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex or technical accounting matters to a variety of finance and business stakeholders
- Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across DTC finance, production accounting, Business Affairs, Legal, and other cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, and act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA candidate, or other relevant professional certification
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise accounting/reporting systems, including Media Morph or similar content accounting platforms
- Entertainment industry experience, particularly in content cost accounting, production accounting, or DTC/streaming finance
- Experience with intercompany accounting, content amortization, participation accounting, or fair value licensing

The hiring range for this position in California is $104,800 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
