Sr. Associate Product Manager, Mobile Platform

The Senior Associate Product Manager - Mobile Platform is responsible for defining, delivering, and continuously improving mobile software products that support surgeons, sales representatives, and clinical care teams throughout the procedural workflow. This role partners closely with Engineering, UX Design, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Commercial, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams to identify customer problems, define product strategy, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality software experiences across iOS, Android, and supporting web applications. 

This role serves as the voice of the customer throughout the software development lifecycle and balances customer needs, business objectives, technical constraints, and applicable quality and regulatory considerations to deliver measurable product outcomes. The position is part of ATEC's information-based technology organization supporting digital products used in connection with spine surgery and related clinical workflows. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Owns a defined portion of the Mobile Platform product portfolio across the product lifecycle, from discovery and roadmap development through delivery, launch, sustainment, and retirement; establishes product objectives and success measures and communicates priorities, tradeoffs, risks, and progress to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Leads product discovery and represents the voice of the customer by engaging surgeons, clinical staff, sales representatives, and other stakeholders through interviews, workflow observation, market and competitive research, and qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify unmet needs, emerging trends, and opportunities to improve clinical and operational workflows.
• Partners closely with Software Engineering, Architecture, UX Design, and Quality Assurance to translate customer needs into intuitive mobile experiences and clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release scope; prioritizes the product backlog based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, and strategic alignment while participating in Agile planning and development activities.
• Supports product delivery, launch, and continuous improvement by coordinating software releases, beta programs, launch readiness, training, and post-launch evaluation; uses product analytics, adoption measures, usability findings, and customer feedback to identify and prioritize improvements across mobile and supporting digital experiences.
• Identifies and evaluates opportunities to advance the Mobile Platform, including appropriate use of native mobile capabilities, artificial intelligence, and automation to improve efficiency, quality, and decision support; supports customer meetings, product demonstrations, training events, conferences, and other cross-functional initiatives and business functions as needed.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and product lifecycle practices.
• Experience using modern product management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, and Miro.
• Experience defining product requirements, release scope, and product success measures.
• Knowledge of healthcare software, medical device software, or another regulated industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA software development processes or healthcare regulatory requirements is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of the spine market or orthopedic industry is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to represent the company professionally in customer, clinical, and business settings.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Human Factors, Biomedical Engineering, Information Systems, Product Management, Design, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mobile Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a related software product development role. Experience with mobile applications, SaaS, healthcare technology, or medical device software is preferred. Experience participating in product discovery, roadmap planning, Agile development, and feature delivery is preferred.

Salary Range

Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $75,000 to $95,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
