Join a high-impact engineering team driving innovation in advanced propulsion systems. The Honeywell Aerospace Turbofan Engines Growth & Test project team within Engines & Power Systems is seeking a Senior Advanced Project Engineer to drive rig and engine test projects that will demonstrate integration of technologies critical to the development of the next generation of commercial turbofan engines.

In this role, you’ll work with highly cross-functional teams to plan and execute a highly visible demonstrator program.  You’ll coordinate with owners of engine modules to ensure designs implemented to meet test objectives; with sourcing, and internal manufacturing to hold to test schedules; and with the rigs and lab groups to ensure the test article is built to specification, installed in the lab facility, and run to the appropriate test plan on time. You may also manage other rig tests in support of a major engine development program. 

You will report directly to the Director of Engineering, and you will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the project engineer and project cost account manager for the demonstration program. 
  • Own budget, schedule, milestones and accomplishment of technical deliverables in support of engine and rig tests.
  • Manage the operating system for driving hardware fabrication, sourcing, inspection, instrumentation, assembly and test.
  • Oversee rig, laboratory and facilities projects required to accomplish the core demonstrator test objectives
  • Work with a cross-functional team to overcome challenges, break barriers and drive escalation where needed to protect the program. 
  • Lead estimating and planning for significant aspects of a major full-scale development program. 
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in design, development, test and/or certification of gas turbine engines, engine control systems or other aerospace systems.
  • Project management experience.

  • Strong technical experience in propulsion systems and gas turbine engines
  • Good working knowledge of Part 33 and Part 25 certification
  • A demonstrated passion for winning and the ability to act with urgency
  • The ability to prioritize time and resources effectively
  • Tolerance of ambiguity, and the ability to set direction in a dynamic environment
